Louisville has to go 13-0 to make the playoffs.

OOC schedules are iffy to say the least. They are so far in advance you have no idea who will be "rebuilding", or loses a coach, etc.

We we need is for the Cuse, BC, WF, Duke, and NCST to start carrying their weight. That might turn out not so good for us, but if we keep doing what we're doing, it will be great.

We can't count on the OOC to carry us.

I still think that what happened this year will force the expansion to 6 or 8 teams to happen sooner rather than later.
They had a hard time picking 4.

Can you imagine the closeness of the next 4? Probably all with 2 losses?

What about us? We may be #9 with 2 losses. And p!$$zed.

Not to mention 8 would probably take the Orange off the table if we were 9.

I'm not trying to argue, but just thinking an 8 team PO will just beg for 12. Then 16

Only correction here is Cuse, BC, WF, UVA and NCST.

I still say that one of Cuse, BC, WF, or NCST needs to be moved over to the other division and that Pitt or Miami should be the one that comes over to the Atlantic Division.

That would balance out the league better for SoS reasons, and would create a much more attractive IC yearly schedule. Oh, also IRT UVA, their coach will get them better soon.....It is only a matter of time for him. CBM is a really, really good coach and has the track record to back that up.

Mayo, I think just moving any single one team "pair" will open Pandora's box to all teams. So it won't happen unless many teams get changed and scheduling gets changed.

Well, the ACC should not be afraid of doing a little hard work to make the conference more competitive overall for all its members. SoS has to get better for all of the league or its perception will not change.

Winning the majority of its bowl games this year would go along way towards doing that too. I really like the 4 coaches that came into the league last year and feel that given time, each will improve their respective team too. The ACC has a lot of upside in CFB.....but they need a dose more of creativity to get there IMO. Go bold to get the Gold. Status quo has got to go.

The schedule next year is absolute shit, especially OOC.

Exactly, and its going to work against UofL.
The Schedule was crapped by the media BEFORE the Clemson game, so if UofL had won, that would be an excuse to keep them out of the final 4.

Yeah Washington OOC was garbage, however UofL is not Washington. Theyve won a title and the Pac12 was ranked high this year.

Need to move the Kent state game back and pick up a good P5.
Id even like to see a ACC Coastal opponent instead of Kent.

I don't think they had a hard time at all picking 4. I mean Michigan lost to an un-ranked Iowa team and stayed #3. Michigan finally dropped out of the top 4 after losing a second time to Ohio State who happened to lose to Penn State who happened to win the B1G championship in spite of losing to Michigan in a blow out. LOL. This year begged for more than 4. It should be at least 6 teams IMO and capped at 8.

I really think 6 might be the perfect number - let all 5 P5 champs in, plus one at large. Give the top 2 a bye. This way, every P5 team starts the season with a truly equal chance to make the playoff - win your conference, and you are in. This year I don't think anyone would have complained if you had the 5 conference champs plus 1 loss OSU in there.

My issue is that it's only 4 teams, which is ridiculous.

Agreed. Seems like an easy solution to make it eight teams.

Here's how I would do it.

Power 5 conference champs
Highest ranked non power 5 conference champ
Two wild card spots

That way they can keep the crappy bowl system and still have a legitimate playoff.

The reason I'm against six is the byes will be based on nothing but bias. It works in the NFL. It does not work in college football to give byes. Why? Because it's based on nothing but bias. How can someone possibly say "11-1 Alabama deserves the bye over 11-1 Clemson?" (or any example of teams) They have the same record and it's pure speculation to say someone is better without them playing.

Make them have to win the same amount of games as anyone else would.
