I feel as this is a big time trap game for us on the road. I do feel like we will learn a lot from this game because Boeheim will have his team ready and they have been on a roll here lately with the exception of today.

I hope we can pull off the road win. Hope Q this game continues to get back into rhythm.

You could tell today he isn't 100%. Hope he gets there by North Carolina.

Hope the team doesn't take any of these remaining games lightly. The way Pitino is talking at his press conferences makes me think that they are going game by game and not looking ahead, which is very good.

Would be great to finish the regular season 26-5. Winning at UNC would give us a big bid for a 1 seed if others fall.

Keep doing great and Go CARDS!

Our big men have all but disappeared. Ray Spalding, Anas, Mango, and JJ are the key to us winning.

Without them blocking shots and rebounding well, we struggle. Would love to see a game where they all play well.

Going to track it from now on, but i would like to see 25 points 20 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 10 assists from these four combined.

If we can get that production from them we will have a special season.

Syracuse will play their zone, we need our bigs to show up and help our guards out.

A balanced team is a special team and we will get to see exactly who we are in this game.

Who wouldn't like to see 25-20-5 and 10 from the frontline? I don't see Pervis and Ellis magically reappearing. I will settle for today's 17-22-2 and 2 to be the norm in game today. Not real happy about the two blocks and assists, but that how it worked out.

Ray's 4 rebounds in 13 minutes at least got him sticking his head out the door of my personal doghouse. I hope it is a sign of things to come.

JJ came through for us, especially at the end by blocking a 3 and hitting 2 big free throws. IIRC he had 10 & 8, and scored our first two baskets of the second half on offensive rebounds.

Ray is a liability on the offensive end. He literally makes me ill, he's soft as hell. Jalen and Mango are our most physical bigs, the others just do not get it!

Got to agree with ShortCreek. Johnson and Mathiang are the only 2 big men who aren't afraid to mix it up and get physical. All the other big men play as soft as Charmin toilet paper. IF we're going to beat Syracuse, the big men have to rebound the ball, and take it strong to the rim when they get the chance. Going inside timid and unsure will get us beat.

The mind games rick play effect people differently. I hope ray figures it out. He is actually the most talented big we have. Best rebounder and he has a solid jump shot.

His confidense is shot to hell.

25 points
20 rebounds
5 blocks and 5 assists

Are not too much to as for from our four post players. In fact, it should be the norm. We are more than capable of reaching that rather easily.

If we reach that goal we will be champions if we dont reach that goal we will be home watching the sweet sixteen.

Defense travels. Statistics say we are a solid defensive team, but teams have been getting to the rim with ease. We are not talking like we should be nor have we been having the fun and high fiving as we have been either.

We need to smile and bring the fun back. Our team plays better that way.

Hicks will be back this week and we have one month to get dialed in.

Monday will tell me a lot about our team.

I hope our bigs reach my mark.

When i make statements like thus you ladies get your card board panties in a bunch.

I dont think padget is a good coach for bigs and would love to see him move on. Padget was the softest big to ever play for rick. He can only teach kids how to be soft because that is all he knows. Loved him as a player, but he is amd was soft as fresh water.

The real truth is that Anas needs to gain weight.

This off season all of them need to use tennis balls and work on ball handling. Every single player needs chairs and tennis balls because our ball handling is ridiculous as a team.

We have a team that if it buys in and works like hell can win a national championship. Pitino needs to play his players. (use his bench for the maggot) wear teams down and not let up on then press.

Hicks is missed because he drives the ball better than anybody on the team on and finds open shooters.

MONDAY IS HUGE FOR US......hope our guys are ready to play...

I more than believe 25 points 20 rebounds 5 blocks and 10 assists are a goal our bigs can reach. May not be the same guy dominating the stats, but I hope we can produce those stats collectively every game.
If we do, guess what we will be.....

Beas,
At least spell his name right, it's Padgett and he is an excellent coach for the bigs we have. You want a guy like Shaq coaching Anas? Ain't going to happen. What you are now seeing from Anas is the weight he has gained, about 20 lbs. is now slowing his foot speed down and he's not reacting to the ball as quickly as before. It's going to take an offseason before he learns how to play with the additional weight. He's trying to learn on the fly and it's baby steps right now.

The weight is on now, quickness WILL return as he gains strength.

Nope. Not true and for your information, I'm probably old enough to be your Dad and maybe even your Grandpa.

What people in general get tired of reading from you is your insistence on thinking you know more than the coaches know. You're what I like to label a internet genius when the real truth is you probably don't know your elbow from your knee when it comes to the game of basketball.

I like most of your posts Beasley and find myself agreeing with you most of the time, but sometimes you just go way over the top with some of your rants. That's when you get the blow back from people. Calling people names when they don't agree with you only empowers them while making yourself look uninformed and ignorant. Nothing good ever comes out of calling people names.

you regurgitate what i say and get applause.

I have opinions of my team on my teams home board. I wish more people posted their opinions instead of ridiculing ones that do. that is why this board is so dead sometimes.

I believe we are a better team when he plays his players ( plays the bench) when he goes to a tighter rotation we are suspect to lose.

believe of me what you wish, my predictions are mostly true.

many are pissed off because i publically stated grantham is a moron and not worthy of being on my louisville sideline.

I am just a fan, and enjoy talking about the team I love. really dont care if people agree with my take or not, its just really funny to see people change the title and say the exact thing I said after they ridicule me.

big game tomorrow, hope we are ready for it.

go Cards!!!

I know that Beasley. I'm never going to question your love for the Cardinals. I'm just a fan too and I do enjoy reading your opinions and again, I find myself agreeing with you most of the time. Don't take it personal how people react on a message board is my best advise to everyone. This is just a place we all visit to get away from real life issues in my opinion.

Peace, out.

To get those numbers Ana's will need to snap out of it. He is the only big with a decent offensive skill set. Mango is playing well, but is limited offensively. Ray literally has no post moves, although is a beast on the boards when he gets in the flow. Jaylen has some offensive skills but can't jump over a phone book so that hurts him. I can see us getting those rebound and block numbers. Just not sure we can get those offensive numbers....maybe off a lot of put backs....

Being tall and having played forward i find myself looking at blockouts and notice that our guys are scared of contact when the ball goes up

Johnson and mangok are best at absorbing contact. Anas and Ray shy away from it.

I believe putbacks are a greatbway for them to score. Anas and Ray have the best outside shots.

If we get those numbers from them be prepared to travel.

Thrilled that the remaining games after VA Tech are no more than four days apart. Gap between Syracuse and VT (2/13-2/18) is the longest one remaining. The recent quick turnarounds will help later on though.

This game has upset written all over it. Boeheim will have the orange fired up after the loss Saturday and the passing of Fab Melo. Another HUGE game for the cards.

Syracuse has been a pretty poor rebounding squad this year, and even the most ardent Louisville fans probably are unaware that we're second in the ACC in rebounding margin, so our template should be basic. We're going to shoot alot of threes tonight which in trips up to the Carrier Dome in the past has meant Rick extends his bench rather than reduces it...we'll see some of Levitch certainly, a little of McMahon I suspect. Rebounded misses will be treated like assists given the high caliber we offensively rebound the ball which makes Mangok and Jaylen important to the attack. I'd guess we'll be playing a little more man than we played against Miami, Syracuse has too much on the perimeter to play the type of zone we played Saturday; we gave up too many quality perimeter looks to Miami.

I like us tonight, something like 76 to 68.
