Hmmm. they are UL. They use the old school U on top of the L that we used to use. They have a Fleur-de-lis on their jerseys. Would be fun to match up with them for a best 2 of 3 for the whole thing. They are a true blue collar team which is the way we built our program although I feel we are white collar status now and while its fun to crash the party as a blue collar the truth is white collar teams when rings.

I have enjoyed watching the Cajuns and have given a thought or two about a UofL and ULL final. Looks tough for them now down 6-4 to Ole Miss in the 8th.

They are concensus #1 in the polls and are in danger of being barred from the Omaha dance. VA and U of L could be the top two teams left.

Im not disrespecting any team left, especially not Vandy, but Virginia scares the hell outta me. They have been a top team all season and after watching them the last couple weekends, I know why. Probably the most complete team left and may have been all season. They had a few bad losses this year but that's baseball and other than Wake Forrest they won every series. Not winning the ACCT should tell us how hard its gonna be to do.

I agree Had1. I think the 3 best teams left are UL, Virginia, and Vandy. Just stinks we have to play one of those right out of the gate. Okie St was looking really good until last weekend. I was a little worried about them but they are out. So I am picking a UV/UL or UV/Vandy final. And if Maryland can beat their Friday starter, I like our chances. We win the 1st game of a best of 3 against those guys and I think we bring it home. Can't wait for Saturday! GO CARDS!!!!

Ignoring a West Coast team in the CWS happens all the time - to everyone;s detriment. Why? because they win a lot, lol. Fresno State and Oregon State twice are object lessons. UC Irvine is scary.

I agree Senore. I'm not ignoring anyone that made it to Omaha. If you are there then you are a very good team. I think the best from out west is Texas. They have a great pitching staff but don't hit the ball that great. UCI is good but not as well rounded as the UL, UV, or Vandy. But that doesn't mean they can't win. The three teams I chose as the best 3 remaining were selected because they all three have complete teams. They are all 3 very good in every aspect of the game. I'm not the type to pick teams based on the geography. Didn't even think about where they were located when I posted. Any team left can win it. Just from watching the regional and super regional rounds, those are the best 3 I have watched at this point. No other team in the CWS this year made it last year except UL. No other team has went through the regional and super regional rounds without a loss except UL. So my pick to win it all is THE UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE CARDINALS. But I may be a bit bias...lol GO CARDS!!! 5 down, 5 to go!

We start off with a very tough game that will be fueled like no other 1st rd because of the history but like was stated above, we are the only team to run through the NCAA without a loss so being hot at the right time could be a big difference. We just need to be sure to keep everything even keel and not get to jacked by a win over Vandy or to down by a loss. One game at a time and never get away from what got us here.

Well said. It also takes a little luck - a bounce here, a ball to go through the infield, etc. Hope the team plays relaxed and a good game.
