LOL clown Matty Bangs elite job tweet

Matty Bangs is a chicken Sh$t that is nothing more than a twitter warrior. I don't listen or follow that JA.

He must not remember how many coaches turned Kentucky down. I think Gillispie was their fourth choice, and Calipari definitely was chosen because they knew that he was one that wouldn't say no.

When I graduated from engineering school, one of the best jobs in my discipline that you could land was in Midland, Michigan. That's kinda the way I look at the LPT job from the standpoint of a job someone would want.

It's also why the Louisville job is attractive to a coach, esp. one from a city/urban background. You get most of the intrinsic perks of an LPT job, and you get to live in a pretty nice place. I think that's increasingly important to coaches who want the best of everything as most do.

And of course, it doesn't surprise me that Middlesboro Maddie would be completely oblivious to that.

"Elite program," my a$$...

I posted this in another thread, but I truly believe UofL is the 2nd best college basketball job behind UNC.

From a pure curiosity standpoint, what's the reasoning behind U of L fans thinking Lexington is some kind of dump?

I travel for work a LOT, and I can tell you that Lexington is a very nice place compared to many I have been.

I used to live in Lexington--believe that!--for a short time many years ago. So I know what's there and what's not.

The problem is that you live in Lexington, but your fanbase is mostly rural. And I'm not hammering those people because U of L is increasingly attracting those fans and students. It's just that it's the university OF LOUISVILLE. And in truth, the coach at either premier State school doesn't care about the name. It's where he has his followers and responsibilities. For your coach, it's not the university OF LEXINGTON.

Credit to him now because he's OK with that. I think he sees LPT as mostly just a stage that he performs on nationally. And I think the converse is a big reason Pitino is in a place like Louisville and has remained here. Pitino needs to be in a place where he's happiest.

BTW with those characteristics of the job, locale, fans, etc. come Pitino's remarks about how the two fanbases structure their lives around the schools and handle wins and losses. The rural folks worship the State school; the city folks see it as a form of entertainment. And if your background is more city/urban, you relate more to the latter. I can only guess what Pitino says about the two when his mike is turned off.
