Sutton averaged 12.7 ppg and 7.7 rpg as a true freshman starter for UNC Asheville this past season. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the Big South Tournament after scoring 25 points and snagging 18 rebounds in the Bulldogs' 77-68 win over Winthrop. Sutton then scored 11 points in the team's NCAA Tournament loss to eventual national champion Villanova.
The fact that he is willing to come on as a walk on is huge with the scholarship reductions happening after next season. The Cards will only have 12 scholarships available BUT they will have 13 scholarship caliber players with the addition of Sutton who definitely appears to be a good D1 quality player.
