Lies, fabricated story lines to sell a book

Well, I understand you guys wanting this played down, but I would imagine that "former recruit" has already verified this to the NCAA since we know that both Blakeney and Lyles have confirmed some portion of the book. The comparison to UM is pretty close but the major difference is the money man was a booster, not a staff member, not to mention the NCAA backed off a bit when they got in some trouble for their investigation. Who knows what will happen from all of this but considering the OTL report, known admissions by former players to some of the facts, known admission by former recruits to even more facts, vetting by a Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist and pictures that show contact between many of the parties involved, it's hard to understand just saying she made it up.
Yes, but what portion have they confirmed? That there were strippers present and McGee gave them dollar bills to throw at them? That's not good but certainly not super damaging in anymore than an image perspective. Even Powell herself hasn't claimed that any recruit knew that any of her ragbag crew were being paid to have sex with them - if that happened at all - so that is not something that the recruits could have "confirmed". The Blakeney situation - what could he possibly confirm? At worst, he could say that he was in town for an AAU tournament and somehow (details unbeknown to him) he and his super classy guardian hooked up with a mother and daughter. He doesn't know / can't confirm money changing hands - so there's nothing super damaging there from what he could say. Besides, no one from Louisville has been to date alleged to be involved - only McGee - who was at UMKC.

BTW - Powell is now blaming the Pulitzer winning author as the one behind the discrepancies between what is in the book and the stuff she's saying now. This has a long way to go before Louisville starts worrying about sanctions - self imposed or otherwise.
