Lets win out the rest of the season.

No reason UofL can't do this
No reason? Have you not been paying attention?

Yes, Louisville could win out but do you really think it will happen?

The national embarrassment the Stanford loss is will not be purged even if the Cards win these two games. Pitt has been faltering after their 7 and 0 start and UK, well they're not going bowling this holiday season.

Louisville would have to beat someone better in a bowl game to turn the Stanford debacle into just some weird outlier. Let's say a bowl win over Colorado or Ole Miss for example.

Before Stanford, Louisville was looked at as that team that was so close to being undefeated, losing by 7 to three highly ranked teams. The Clemson win showed how true that sentiment could be.

But the absolute undisciplined and unprepared performance against a 2 win team after a bye week, took all of those good vibes and flushed them down the toilet.

The coaches and players do have something to prove, but they already had that and they still squandered it.

So, although the Cards are favored to win these next two games, I'm not sold any of that means a thing with this team. I believe many players are already looking ahead to what they're doing after the season ends.

Uhh...yes it will. Step back from the ledge bro. We're moving ahead.

Ok

I’m hoping. As usual.

Last years late season meltdown added to the unexplained losses this year have jaded me.

We are 6-7 in our last 13 games.

Pardon me while I wait and see.

Yeah I was referring to winning the next two to erase the "national embarrassment of losing to Stanford "
Didn't say it was gonna happen, hell I don't know, but if it does it'll be erased for most of our fans.

I'm nowhere near the ledge. Twenty years ago that wouldn't be the case. A certain hoops loss to George Mason brings back some ugly memories.

The thing that gets me about the Stanford loss was the fact everyone knew of Brohms history of losing to bad teams after beating a good team, yet no one thought there was any chance it would happen this time against such a bad team.

But it did and it took several errors and mistakes in a row to lose the game. It was like watching a "How to lose to a much inferior opponent", promo video.

So yes we're moving ahead and if Louisville kicks Pitt and UK's asses then maybe the stink of Stanford may seem like it was a year ago? But that's highly unlikely.

The teams confidence has to be shattered and there are no more goals to achieve except finishing strong, which is a platitude.

But I hope I'm as wrong as I was last week at this time.

They threw in a clunker for sure last week and I'll stick with my first post here. They weren't mentally near as sharp as Clemson, top to bottom. In a 12 game season, they're all important. The leaders of this team have to see it coming and adapt. That's coaches and players alike.

I think if they have learned anything from Stanford it's play every play and step on their throats when they're down. We'll see..

I expect Jeff knows better than anyone that he is ultimately responsible for the humiliation his team just received nationally. I expect he will respond in a positive and meaningful manner beginning the moment the Stanford game ended.
