UW 48 Rutgers 13, 1st game of yr, (RU goes 2-10, 0-9 IC) ? how long ago was this game schd?
UW 59 Idaho 14, 2nd "; Idaho goes (8-4, 6-2 IC) SBC co-champ, goes to bowl game, oth losses; WSU 56-6,Troy 34-13, and Appie State 37-19.
UW 41 Portland St. 3; ,3rd "; FCS PSt goes 3-9, 2-6 IC)

I thought this would be interesting to compare since UW and Bama both played USC this season. As we all know USC beat UW 26-13 @ USC in 10th game of the season and USC is going to the Rose Bowl now. Outside of Penn St, it could easily be said that USC is/was the hottest team the last half of the season. The results of that game is a big tell to me.

However, comparing the OOC's schedules between the two is pretty close to a wash IMO. 1 played the CUSA conf Champ, and the other played the SBC Co-Champ bowl bound team; UW was locked into a game with a B1G team that completely called their season in the rest of the year after losing the opener to UW and went win less in their own league. It does seem like Bama got a better FCS team to play and whip up on and conveniently right before their big end of season rivalry game.

Cards need to take note of that and work on a FCS team as their 11th game before the uk rivalry game in the future.

Question for the board? How much worse is UW OOC than Bama's taking out the USC game? I have a hard time accepting the 127 rating that the pundits keep throwing out there.

One of the drawbacks of playing 9 IC games is less wiggle room in the 3 OOC's and greater room for criticism when you don't schedule a marquee OOC game with another P5 'Blue Blood' program. And end up playing a terrible Rutgers.....just bad luck of the draw for UW in that regards.
