Les Miles fired

You already know the two names the media will mention...Bob Petrino and Tom Herman...LSU has a $13 Million payout and in order to even get Petrino another $10 Million plus they would have to pay him likely another $5Million for 5 years...$25 Million before you get into paying assistants...my guess it Herman...

In another dimension AND if LJ can transfer to LSU and be immediately eligible... :p

A lot of coaches will be rumored for the LSU job and Les Miles will be rumored for a lot of other jobs. Seems a tad early for the coaching carousel to get cranked up, but bring it in on.

A lot of coaches will be rumored because it drives Internet traffic and clicks but since they're not getting Saban's back, and since Petrino's not coming, I think it boils down to three names.

1. Tom Herman
2. Hugh Freeze
3. Art Briles

Not to early. Rumor has it, that LSU has reached out to Hermann's and Briles' agents.

I can't see Petrino being interested. He has the #3 team in the country, the best player in the country, and no Nick Saban to look at every year.

From his Arkansas stint, Petrino knows better than most how much that last part sucks.

Well, he did suck

I would say you are wrong there. In 15 years as a head coach coming into this year, Miles was 140-53 for a winning percentage of 0.72539 with two teams that played for the national championship and one of which won it.. By way of comparison, petrino in 11 years is 100-39 for a 0.71942 winning percentage and no national championship games. If Miles sucks as a coach, so do a lot of other guys that are behind him.

Calling it now. Jimbo. Timing is right. Actually, timing is perfect. Remember me when that all goes down.

Stranger things have happened I guess but, I'd be surprised if Fischer left FSU for LSU. Clearly the path to a NC is more navigable in Tallahassee - not to mention the fact that the expectations are less insane. My guess is his agent already has an agreement in principle for a big raise from the Seminoles.

Yeah you are right because few coaches have ever done as little with so much talent as Miles. Your tiny micro-stats are really quite hilarious. BP with those same dudes would be Governor of Louisiana by now.

Miles doesn't suck, his body of work is good. But he did underachieve quite a bit towards the end of his tenure. The milk went sour, and that happens pretty much everywhere.

The built in advantage of coaching LSU is immeasurable. There is no other school in the talent rich state of LA to recruit against. LSU is the only show in town. So with that, comes high expectations. The job is not for everybody.

According to LSU fans,

Les was told to fire Cameron and he refused.

Props and respect to Les Miles.

When I heard the news he was let go, my first thought was that was probably the scenario. Whether it is true or not we will probably never know.

Really? Prove it. Show me a "micro-stat" that supports your argument. At LSU, Miles had a record of 112-32 (0.778). At Arkansas, Lover Boy Bobby had a record of 34-17 (0.667). Same conference; same division. Very different results. Oh, and two national title games to ... zero. And did I mention that Coach Miles actually beat Nick Saban a time or two? Let's check the Easy Rider's win total against Saban ... that would be, Zero. So other than your cardinal red glasses, what have you got? And if LSU makes no play for your boy, what does that tell you? (I already know what you are going to say - it is either because they are "stupid" or the "SEC looks down its nose" or some such lame crap.)
I do not believe anybody disrespected your beloved SEC here, I am just stating the obvious which somehow eludes your brain. Ask any knowledgeable football guy who he would choose to coach his prominent football program on equal terms and Bobby Petrino will be the answer 10 out of 10 if Miles and him are the choice.

If you are dumb enough to not see (which is kind of obvious) the job that Petrino and his coaching staff have done here with a different set of circumstances then you are ... Well , who you are.

Suck or not the fans at LSU have little use for him. The style of play record good or bad. That is what you get with LSU. 8-4, 10-2 doesnt get it done. Plus SI has already stated Tom Herman and Jimbo are the lead candidates. They ruled out Petrino due to baggage, the 7 year extension, along with the 25 million dollar buy out. And that's prior to negotiating salaries (Head coach and assistants). Are you sure your on the right site?

Stats are fine but do not paint the whole picture. Miles inherited a ton of talent from Saban whereas CBP did not at Arkansas. It was a turnaround situation. It was was so bad had his lone loss to UK while there.

IMO Miles has too much Bo Schembechler in his DNA when it comes to offense in the modern age. I say that as Bo's smiling face looks down on my keyboard. It served him well for a long time but his inability to adjust on offense along with poor clock management caught up with him. Also add in the possibility of a refusal to fire Cam Cameron.

Les Miles is a fine FB coach and far from the buffoon the media like to portray. And while his sleazy past is problematic, CBP is a better coach than you like to portray.
CBP 2.0 has shown none of the issues of the original version. Time will tell.

10 out of 10? Really? Name one.

That is not entirely correct, Boone. Houston Nutt's last two teams were 10-4 and 8-5. He walked away because Long would not support him against boosters who wanted to dictate personnel and style.
