KHSAA moving State Championships to Lexington

I've always thought the sweet 16 belonged in Lexington. It's better attended there than anywhere else. Football...... idk. The only real argument to be made there is that it's more centrally located in the state.

Just have to accept the fact that there's a lot of people out in the state that don't want much to do with Louisville. You can't fix stupid.

The sweet16 belongs in Louisville.
At least a rotation between Louisville, Bowling Green, and Lexghanistan.

The football playoffs definitely belong in Louisville.
This State blows in how it regards the City.

When I was in high school, my school (Doss) went to the sweet 16 at Rupp. It was a great experience. Very well attended from all over the state. When it's in Louisville, attendance isn't as good. A whole lot of UK fans from out in the state will go to sweet 16 just because it's in Rupp. I live out in the state now, and I hear people say they don't want to go things in Louisville because it's Louisville.

Rupp is a basketball Mecca. I've got no problem with the sweet 16 being there.

Football is just foolishness and ignorance on the part of the people that won't go to Louisville. The best stadium, best facilities in every way shape and form for football games. But there are people that won't go because it's in Louisville.

Hate to disagree with you but Commonwealth is nicer venue than Papa Johns and will be after expansion of PJ.

This is a complete joke right?

Yeah those hillbilly seat on the aluminum bench are real classy. Cat fans kill me. UK is the biggest joke in the SEC in FB.

More amazing than that POV is that the slapd!cks invested $120 million to get Kroger's looking like it does today. And how they justified that investment with a REDUCTION in capacity.

Takes blue goggles, a lotta smoke and mirrors.

LPT Football: Cleanup in Aisle 3...

Heard an executive with the KHSAA on Deener's show Thursday morning... He said most of the issue with relocating the HS football championship games is facility availability. WKU and Louisville need their stadiums to be available later into the season for critical games.

Unstated was that LPT does not.

Not quite. Seat back chairs versus bleachers. Ample parking. If you want to talk about renovations, PJCS is now enclosing the North end which adds more seats (chairback) and ground level boxes.

You can fancy up your erector set based stadium all you want, it is still an erector set stadium with bleachers. I'll take the chair backs, better parking, better amenities any day of the week.

I honestly could care less where high school games are played. They economic benefits are a blip on the radar.

Seriously dude. Commonwealth doesn't have near the amenities Papa Johns has now. When expansion is completed, our training facilities will outpace yours as well.

And that is the other consideration... Does anyone really care if these games are ever played in Louisville again??

Id like to see football played in Louisville. Don't really care about the others.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. This rivalry of ours, it's funny. Of all the games between us since the mid 90's, that win over us last November, y'all act like it was a national championship.
To the garden variety Slapd!ck, it was.

I think the reason they want it in Lessington and not Louisville is for attendance. The Louisville teams will travel to Lessington better than vice versa. Having the playoff in Bowling Green proved Louisville schools will travel to support their schools. This will give the KHSAA a bigger gate and more money.
