Let's say things play out like they currently sit. Bama, Ohio State, Clemson and Washington are the 4 playoff teams.

Who do you want in a bowl game? The candidates would probably be:

Michigan (though probably not due to Rose bowl tie in)
Tennessee
Wisconsin
Tx AM
Oklahoma

Personally, I'd want Michigan but the Rose bowl will prevent it. So I'd have to go with UT. Oklahoma would be second choice.

I agree with OP... I'd definitely want Michigan but it doesn't seem possible based on the rules. After that, Tennessee and Texas A&M. It's always better to play against the SEC, due to all the hype. Beating a team from that league, even if it is T A&M again, helps raise our profile as a program. Fair or not, that's just how it is.

If Nebraska were to win out but lose in the Big Ten championship game, it's very possible they could go to the Rose Bowl. Michigan could then be selected to play in the Orange - the Orange Bowl's choice for the spot opposite the ACC is either SEC, Big Ten or Notre Dame.
