Just a question

I’m asking this on another board as well.
Why in the world is the Transfer portal open before the title game?
Makes little sense to me. I guarantee you there are guys still in the sweet 16 wanting to test those waters.
Just let it wait till the final horn.

Even Calipari of all people was complaining about the portal being open before the season over. He made the comment that he was going to be recruiting and coaching in the same practice..

Looking back now, it should be evident that “academics” who had little if any experience in business, assumed leadership roles within the NCAA and given unlimited authority, but requiring absolutely no accountability.

The very concept of the NCAA, one where the member institutions themselves are responsible for every aspect of its operations, is akin to a private company being run entirely by its employees. It might sound altruistic, but overtime it becomes so large and bureaucratic, it evolves to where no one is in control.

Rollem said it best, “no leadership”. We can see much of the same thing playing out within so many of those same Colleges and Universities that comprise the NCAA, seldom.experiencing any consequences for their poor decisions.

The transfer window remains open until April 22nd, so there’s no rush for players to declare. Even if they play in the championship game, they have 15 days to enter the portal.

I don’t have a problem with it only impacts 16 teams who are doing just fine. The kids that are on those teams that entered the portal are being mismanaged. What bigger spotlight do you want? What if they went off in a game their market value sky rockets.
