Total offense: UofL is ranked 27th. UVA is ranked 104th.
Total defense: UofL is ranked 111th. UVA is ranked 8th.

So, we've got a good offense going against a good defense, and a bad offense going against a bad defense. I'm thinking we are going to have a fairly low scoring affair. Something to the tune of 21-20. ESPN game predictor has this one close to a 60/40 game in favor of UVA. It's more like a 50/50 game, in my mind. That is, of course, if the Cards are able to move on from the Clemson game. Something tells me they will.

What is the status on Hall? Anyone know?

I've reviewed the same rankings. The devils in the details. Virginia has faced one opponent (Notre Dame at 30) that has an offense ranked in the top 60 so there numbers may be a little skewed. On the flip side, we have faced four offenses in the Top 30 (WF-6, Clemson-10, BC-11 and N.Dame-30). So our defensive numbers may be skewed a little as well. There defense may not be as good as the numbers and our defense isn't as bad as the numbers.

The surprising number to me is how well Virginia controls time of possession. They do this without a run game, which tells me they must dink and dunk down the field or their QB makes plays with his feet since he's a mobile threat. This is going to be a challenge for us and I hope we can play a clean game with no turnovers, minimizing penalties.

He's out for the season.

He's out for the season.
Where does this information come from?
I haven't heard this.
Last I heard, he was day-to-day.[/QUOTE]

The kid broke his ankle and had surgery. Only six weeks left to the regular season, unless he has some miracle dust, He will need to rehab and get ready for the NFL combine.

When did that occur? Just how out of touch am I? The CJ just listed him as day-to-day 2 days ago with the article below:
Hassan Hall left Saturday’s game against Clemson limping after a 38-yard kick return in the second quarter.

Coach Scott Satterfield said Hall did not practice on Sunday and is listed as day to day with a “lower-body injury.”

Louisville will evaluate Hall throughout the week to see if he will be available against Virginia this weekend.

If he’s not, Louisville is losing more than just the nation’s No. 3 kick returner; it’s losing a key part of its running back corps.

Hall, who has been backing up Javian Hawkins all season, has 307 yards and three touchdowns this year, averaging 4.1 yards per carry. He is also averaging 38.7 yards per kick return.

"A lower half injury like he had, you never know when he will be available,” Satterfield said. “He’s a good player for us not only in the return game but also as a running back. A little more burden on Hawkins, he has to hold that down at the running back spot.”

Hahaha.... NOT Hassan Hall. Virginia's All American Cornerback Bryce Hall. He was probably a first rounder and First Team All American CB.

Actually, Which Hall where you referring too? I was quoting Bryce Hall From Virginia. Now I see the confusion. Hassan Hall is day to day. My bad for the misunderstanding. lol.

I've been so obsessed pouring over Virginia's numbers that Bryce Hall was the first thing to come to mind.

Wake skewed the heck out of our defensive numbers. Remove that game and where do we stand numbers wise?

OK, I nerded out and recalculated our Total Defense sans Wake. We would be 95th, right below 94 [tada] Wake Forest :p

The best offense we face the rest of the season:

NC St.- 60
Miami - 62
Cuse - 93
UK - 102
Virginia - 104 - I'm still confused on how they are ranked so low. I don't know how they control time of possession with a dismal run game.
