I'm just curious to see the % of this poll.

Where do you stand on Bobby Petrino as Louisville's Head Coach?

  • Let's move on.

  • Stay the course with Bobby no matter what.

  • Support him for now and hope he turns it around but would replace him if we only win 3-4 games.

totally disagree. however, certain past high profile mistakes within our school and coaching have limited probably 20-30% on recruiting trail. in college a single coach can make a program. a one coach changes your cap as you say.
in all honesty, Lane Kiffin would be fun. he's finally matured enough and he's completely in tune with his kids. he wasn't ready for UT and USC and they taught him some things.]

finally what if brohm goes 3-7 this year?

HELL NO to Lane Kiffin.
Id rather keep the weekend at Bernie coach, BKA Petrino

OP keep in mind a young coach as you describe above would be poached by another program immediately following first sniff of success.

In a fantasy land what you describe would be awesome. Nothing wrong with being a dreamer.

EXACTLY why Brohm is a no brainer.
He aint going to leave UofL for ANY school.

The other guys will be take off in a heartbeat when the bluebloods and big boys come callin'.

I agree. I'm all in on Jeff Brohm being the next head football coach for the Cardinals. Don't know how the money is going to add up, but that's Tyra's job now to figure it out. Hope he does.

My choice wasn't on the poll either. If Petrino has 2 losing seasons in a row I'll be ready to move on. Be careful what you wish for bringing in the home town former player as Head Coach. Scott Frost, 0-4 at Nebraska. And that guy won a National Championship last year!

One of the silliest arguments I've ever heard is that "it's not all about wins and losses with Petrino".

So basically you're saying that you want him gone because you just don't like him, and it doesn't matter that he's 119-51 in his 14 seasons as a head coach, including two BCS Bowl games and only one losing season in those 14 years (his first year at Arkansas, when he went 5-7).

After running a clean program that follows NCAA rules, it really IS all about the wins and losses ... regardless of who the coach is.

The guy has a track record of winning games. Quit trying to flush him down the drain five games into the season and just maybe he will post yet another winning season, building toward an even better one in 2019.

On a message board with its share of nutjobs, 80% wanting to stick with Petrino is enlightening...

After the FSU, Georgia Tech and Boston College bunders, it is time to move on. Bobby inherited a Top 25 ranked program five years ago. As of this week we are the 90th ranked program. This failure to produce cannot be tolerated!

I recall a coach inheriting a top 25 team after four years of Bobby 12 years ago. In what would have been Bobby's fifth year, THAT team started sliding down the tubes. We screamed "Coach __ SUCKS! Bobby left him LOADED!"

Then, 6 years ago, another coach inherited a TOP 10 team after four years of Bobby. THAT team too went immediately down to nothing. Arkansas fans screamed "Coach ___ SUCKS! Bobby left him LOADED!"

Now after inheriting a ranked, Sugar Bowl Champion team, five years later IT'S in the tank. And fans are screaming "PETRINO SUCKS! Charlie's players are gone!" Irony at it's peak.

Three ranked teams. Three crashes after four years of Bobby.

Coincidence? Bad luck? Gibbs rule #39. There's no such thing as coincidence, and bad luck doesn't hit after four years, three separate times. I honestly believe Arkansas would have suffered this fate had it not been for the MC crash. (or PO'd boyfriend ;) )

Maybe it's simply Karma. For the guy who screwed everybody on the way up. ;)

Next year will tell the tale.

73-42. 1 and 3 have the same end result.

Yeah, I should do a new one. The third option is pretty much pointless now. Basically you either want him fired and think he gets fired or you want him fired but don't think we can afford to it.

Doubt there are very many non-trolls still in the "fully support" Petrino camp now.
