I was wrong-Kansas would have rolled Louisville

MSU also had two injuries to two of their starters in the game that cost them as the game went on!!!

That game was very close until the final minutes. The score doesn't accurately reflect that. This was a very bad Michigan State team. I expect Kansas to lose to Purdue, to be honest.

Kansas is the king of choke.

MSU is not a great team they have struggled all year not a good indicator whether Kansas is great or not. I think Michigan is a lot better than everybody gives them credit for. When they get to the FF or further that close loss to them will not sting as much.

Kansas chokes again. I still think Louisville would have caused problems for Kansas.

I was really hoping to be in the Sprint Center tonight watching the Cards knock Kansas off. Instead I'm on this board.

Oregon, thank you. Now I do not have to deal with these KU fans that are very similar to UK fans.

Oregon tried to hand that game back to Kansas late. There was some terrible offensive possessions down the stretch. It looked like Oregon was playing not to lose instead of trying to win.

Kansas choked.

I could also most bet Josh Jackson was point shaving.
Kansas choking has come to be a march tradition. Not taking anything away from Oregon. I've never seen a team through the years that can look so good and then do a complete 180 in the tournament. I have not watched enough of their choke jobs to form an opinion on if it's self or just the players. Prob gonna go with self though, they've had to much star power through the years for a guy to be off and still lose

Speaking of underperformance, how does a team consistently ranked high in the preseason manage to ebb and flow during just about every regular season? Enough to make any decent postseason run look like an accomplishment?

I've been wondering that for about the last eight years.

"Elite program," my a$$...

Not particularly a fan of Clark Kellogg, but his response to Charles Barkley about higher seeds losing to lower seeds (upsets) in this NCAA, was as articulate as any commentary that I have heard. My very abbreviated summary of Clark .......... it was a "reset' for the lower seeded teams. At one time or another during the early portion of the regular season, teams from the SEC (like Arkansas, UF, USCjr) played like top 15 contenders. Xavier, Creighton and Butler were examples of Mid-Major teams that looked like legitimate candidates for a Final Four at certain periods.

At one point during the regular season ACC "Johnny come latelys" like WF, VT, Miami, FSU and Clemson could challenge Duke, UVA, UL & UNC most any night .........but their "reset" never got pushed and they each folded up during tournament time.

As Denny said so long ago ......."parity has arrived in College Basketball". For me, these upsets are a combination of witnessing increased parity, matchup advantages, execution and some luck. Kansas performance has not been all together much different than a lot of other up and down performances.
