After the exhibition’s I was really excited about this team, and after the Bahama trip I was still thinking that this team had potential. In steps Mack and the team continually played like they were all disinterested, this team has talent and can be fun to watch now that Mack is gone.

We aren’t going to the dance unless a miracle happens, but for the first time since Mack’s return from his suspension, I am looking forward to watching them again. It’s very sad that a majority of our fanbase was glad to see us cancel the Kentucky game, I was definitely one of them. Three of my buddies and I purchased tickets for the Duke game last night, I’m definitely pumped now that it seems like a huge cloud has left and given our fans a shot in the arm.

I did too Rocky. I wish I could be more optimistic about the outcome of making a change at this time, but I fear whatever initial increase we experience in fan support, will be followed with the reality of who replaces Mack long term.

If you were excited about this team after the exhibition games, then you’d probably be excited about the prospects of Edith Bunker in a bikini.

I went to the games and was basically court side and there was absolutely zero that indicated any reason to have optimism at that point. I stated that on this board and I got booed more than Chris Mack.

Remember when I sent up the warning flare up after the Kentucky State game? I lamented the fact that a bottom dweller D-II team blocked eight of our shots that night? I stated other concerning areas that night too. Many on this board chose to strap on their Cardinal red glasses and deny reality.

I’m sorry, you guys have been lulled to sleep with mediocrity dust. Wake up, we are way down at this point and we have been way down the entire season. We have a ton of work to climb out of this hole, it starts today and continues with the right hire. Probably the most important hire in our basketball program’s history.

Before you take another bow Shorty, you might want to listen more than talking. I do not want to speak for Rocky, but my optimism was not based on the exhibition games; as my optimism was about examination of the incoming roster. The returning starters and the addition of mature and experienced transfers looked most encouraging. No one will ever know if, or what extent the off the court distractions affected these kids, but I am not convinced as you are about the lack of talent any of them possess.

Short Creek was correct. I wasn't high on the team either but wasn't as sure of it as Short Creek was. Overall talent not there.

Everyone misjudged the impact of the problems for Mack over the summer too. I believe this was something nobody posting here could really weigh in on. His heart was no longer in it, and the team didn't rally for him, it was the opposite when he returned.

These guys did lose to Furman game 2 with Peagues. They weren't in any T25 preseason polls. But should they have ALL these terrible losses they own? Probably not. But your record is what it is. No do-overs, or asterisks.

It will be interesting to see how the guys play down the stretch. My guess is they will win more games for Peagues than they would have for Mack. I think we probably all agree with that.
