I have to admit ,sadly, that UL is the worst Division 1 team in football in 2018. No team has been less competitive than we have and I would venture to say no team has trailed for more time overall than any major team .
We have one last game and it is against our biggest rival who we have handled 5 of the last 6 years . our best chance at a win vs Kentucky is to
1 .install TuTu Atwell at starting QB and let him do what he does,which is throw better than anyone we have ,roll. Out and throw on the run ,and have the ability to break long plays.
2Use a QB option and pitch play to Hall and maybe break a long play , maybe mix in Cunningham and use a running game with Hall and Wilson to run. pick up first downs and.
3 Razzle Dazzle , mix in a fake punt, reverse option pass, more screen passes and 5-7 yard quick slants , flea flicker pass , and outs to stop Josh Allen from sacking us over and over. . I thought this type of offense would be shown this season ,but there are a few reasons weren’t. Neither Pass or Cunningham have the ability ,accuracy and zing on the ball to throw 10-12 yards outs ,, Cunningham repeatedly lobbed the ball instead of firing it yesterday showing he has little confidence, . Same with Pass ,who continually made horrible decisions and inaccurate passes, in retrospect Travis should have been allowed to start a game earlier this year to se what he had, I love Jaden Johnson,who has the arm ,confidence and zing on the ball to be a very good QB . QB have to have a swagger or quiet calm about them and be smart enough to adjust, Pass never looked off DB’s always throwing to the receiver he looked at . Easy to guard against. Our offensive line is offensive to say the least. Porous ,penalty prone and looks lost . A lot of this lack of pass protection is the inability for Pass and Cunningham to throw quickly , getting rid of the hall in 3 seconds or less
The defense must put 8-9 in the box to stop Snell and the running attack .sell out and dare Wilson to beat us ,2 use linebacker and / or safety blitzes used against Wilson if they can slow up the run , pressure Wilson into an early turnover and get a lead is a must .get KY thinking and maybe get what is LEFT of our fan. Base fired up for once this season. If we do some of these things we may have a chance.
And most important NO STUPID PEANLTIES ,FALSE STARTS, AND PERSONAL FOULS. .MAYBE WE CAN BE COMPETITIVE FOR ONLY THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR
