I thought we played a great game last night it was very impressive. I do have a concern regarding Ray Spalding. I have noticed he is getting less and less playing time and I wonder why. He gets in the game and makes one mistake and he is pulled IMMEDIATELY while other players make a mistake and they are not pulled.
There is so much upside to Spalding I would hate too see him lose his confidence. I wonder why he is in this situation.

Pitino plays it by ear each game out. He can sense who's come ready to play and who hasn't and he makes changes accordingly. Now it's possible Spalding comes out tomorrow and plays like a NBA lottery pick. If he does, he'll get more playing time.

We need more consistency from everyone to reach the potential this team has in them. The cake is baking. It's not done yet.

4/5 spot is musical chairs, interchangeable parts. Team has quality depth at both spots. This means all four (Ray, JJ, Anas, Mangok) can and will have their minutes yanked on any given night. The quality depth allows Rick to give tough love on minutes played.

I am usually the guy that complains and i cant here. The season has ebbs and flow and we will be fine.

The other thing I keep hearing about CRP is that he bases their minutes on how well they have practiced that week or the days leading up to that game. That way he rewards hustle, but I still think it is difficult for young people because they're not sure what they are capable of until the light comes on. It came on for me about when I was 27...
