We all got stuff going on in our lives. This team, for me, provided a much needed distraction the last 5 months. The team was met with a lot of adversity, enjoyed some high moments, and overcame the low ones. The postseason success was thoroughly entertaining. Hats off to them.

I guess we now see who hits the portal. Got a feeling a few guys will be sought after.

The 24-25 UofL athletic season has concluded.

Well said. Far exceeded what most of us expected as the season was winding down. Very proud of the team.

That's the thing about any sport is how abruptly your season comes to an end. However, I do think we ought to recognize just how special this team was. Probably not Dan's most talented team he has taken to Omaha, especially in terms of starting pitching but somehow they manage to make it to the final 4 standing.

Davis - most HR by a freshman
Neighbors - most hits in Omaha (current)
Klein - coming back from injury but solidified the catching by eliminating passed balls and wild pitches
Alecia - playing with a badly injured thumb
EKJ - finally receiving the respect he deserves and will probably be a decent draft pick
Moore - led the country in stolen bases
Rose - converted C to really good OF
Eberle - went from maybe midweek starter to weekend starter and was most consistent P at one point
Pike - hurt hamstring, not 100% but still managed to produce key hits
Munroe - make himself an MLB prospect

I hope Tague comes back. His HR's get a lot of attention, but his skills at 1B are impressive, especially for a frosh. He also led the team in striking out. Need to clean that up.

Well, he's not draft eligible but Dan has mentioned that some teams have been trying to poach him from us. Hopefully it doesn't come down to money and NIL.

It’s hard to gauge each player’s economic situation. I would guess a guy like Kilen wasn’t happy here and that plus the money made it the right move for him. I don’t think it’s always about dollar signs for everybody, especially the guys that have been recruited for years by our coaching staff.

The thing I learned from this season is hitting is out pacing pitching for the season. Then once you get to the tournament everyone tightens up their rotations then pitching dominates.

This is what leads to the midweek disasters and Sunday inconsistencies. The staff threw everyone just trying to find guys. Once they reduce the rotation they were as good as anyone. Once they got outside that rotation they weren’t good.

Bottom line you have to have 6-7 legit arms and pray you developed 4-5 more throughout the year.

For us in particular, the back breaker was losing the first OSU game, falling into the loser's bracket. We likely were doomed at some point after that as far as winning a National Championship..
