Since reading Donovan Mitchell's quote about Allen after yesterday, it occurred to me that I get caught up in making a guy, team, whatever, an enemy and that's ok as long as I don't take it too seriously.

It's not that that Allen hasn't brought it on himself but hopefully people can all take the high road that Donovan and Coach P took yesterday after the game. And by the way, the guy who's mug we seem to always want to punch, looked like a guy that just gave his best and was congratulatory to the Cardinal players in the handshake line.

I actually think he may be evolving past his Dukieness.

I certainly hope, for his sake, that you are right. The major problem that I have is that Coach K let him off the hook and, in my opinion, people have been doing that for him for a long, long time. Allen must face the music and be made to pay the price. A "one game suspension" is not facing the music and Coach K knows this for sure. Being an aggressive competitor is what we all expect of any player but when it carries over to poor sportsmanship it is being carried too far. This kid needs a true lesson.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

He locked his arm around Mitchell and brought him hard to the ground. I don't think that shows very much growth. In the game earlier this week he shoved a FSU coach while falling out of bounds, when any other human being would have tried to catch himself or the person he was falling
On.

Yeah I'm not buying it either. The kid has a punk attitude and it's part of his DNA. I don't judge him by anything other than the content of his character, and he's shown the true content of his character way too often for it to be ignored or explained away. The kid has a serious attitude flaw and one day, some how, some way, it'll come back on him tenfold.

Allen even looked like he wanted to get into it with David Levitch, of all people, when they both were going for a loose ball. He kind of put a little extra contact into David as he was getting up.

Actions speak louder than words and he has proven to be a dirty player and a hothead. I wouldn't trust him on the court, on the team, in business or in life.

Nice post op.I'm thinking along the same lines.I prefer to think that we are all human and hardly perfect.
To see others encourage someone struggling is as human as it gets.

I noticed this too along with a smirk. Honestly I hope the cards don't have to play Duke in the ACC tournament. He's out of control and will get someone seriously injured, it's only a matter of time...

Nothing will happen to him.
After all of that all he got was a 1 game suspention.

Nothing is going to happen to him. He is taught to do everything he does.

I disagree that he is taught this. It's like Pitino said. It's a reflex. I coached youth baseball and basketball for about 10 years. I had one player who had temper tantrums and I constantly had to discipline him. However his parents didn't see it that way. They thought I was purposely singling him out. He was talented enough to play D2 baseball but didn't get away with the stuff he did in HS. After dropping out of college after his freshman year, he joined the Navy and now I think he finally matured and is a decent young man.

I think about the flopping and the way duke players act and many years past. I bekieve they are taught to play dirty.
The way he grabbed the arm of donovan mitchel and drug hum to the floor and then was expecting a call is not reaction.

Coach K teaches his kids to do that. Too many of then have done it over the years.

Dirty players.

So all the players who played for him on the Olympic teams are dirty players?

Dont know where i wrote that, i thought i wrote that he teaches his kids to flop and grab just like grayson grabbed DM.

You seem to have an abilility to ask questions and answer them at the same time. That is scary.

I am not a fan of K never will be. Nothing against him, just dont like him.

I am a fan of louisville, but also a fan of the sport. K teaches his players to go around rules. That is a fact.

You implied Coach K "coaches dirty play" therefore he would have to coach the Olympic teams the same way. Bobby Knight and Coach K coach the same way, hard nose and they push every limit to get the most out of their kids. Last I looked they are both HOF coaches. I don't like either one myself but I'm not going to call them "dirty" coaches.

Chris Jones flopped. Did CRP teach him that?

He excels at teaching players to be chippy. Cant call him dirty, but chippy yes.
Grayson is a dirty player. He is going to do something to someone and that person is going to clean his clock.

From Dahntay Jones, to Justice Winslow, to Gracie Allen. There are others I've forgotten. It's a trend of guys that fight below the belt. The entire regime is quite laughable and if we weren't biased we'd dislike them more than we dislike UK. It's just not an admirable program.
