This game will be one we look back on as a growing point. Mitchell played with a lot of grit.
I agree. Mitchell's play down the stretch was clutch even though he had a lackluster game earlier, he came through when it mattered most. Dare I say the Cards have found their "go to" guy? Or at least one of them.

For those who weren't able to watch the game, Valvano mentioned that Mitchell had missed a couple days of practice and lost 4 lbs due to an abscess (tooth?). I think that may have something to do with a slow start.
I agree that Mitchell took over the game but Snider kept us in the game and made some big shots. Plus Spaulding's defense.
And just to add,Adel couldn't have looked worse at one end of the court,but he will be on the court despite that because he is a lockdown defender.He did it early and late.Good to see Big Ray swatting shots.We need that presence in the paint.
Told my son something was off for Mitchell. Didnt have his normal explosiveness around the basket. This explains it.
