Auriemma sets the standard for success at all levels of coaching. He has proven he can take the best collegiate talent in the country to build teams that win National Titles (11), put them in the pros and also coach the best professionals to multiple Gold Medals (2). Only Coach K has come close to this level of success with 5 National Titles and 2 (3rd coming?) Olympic Gold Medals. USA! USA! USA!

When you consider the men's game vs. the women's game I think you have it backwards. Geno is the only person to get close to Coach K. However, it is really apples to oranges.

My take is a little different. It's just UCONN (not USA) + Angel > World
Whatever the take, the US women were clearly more dominant in their field than the men were in theirs. Just as clearly the bulk of the team seemed to be UCONN alums.

Also that wasn't the absolute best talent the U.S. had to offer on the men's team either. I mean Harrison Barnes was on the team and no LeBron or Curry for various reasons. And playing bad defense.
