Geez, this is now FOUR more titles they had a great shot at...

I don't blame a kid for not wanting to come play for Rick or for choosing to play for Cal over Rick.

We know you are a parody account. Nobody is taking your lengthy defense of your coach around here seriously – especially the W/L regular season stats that include games against the typically trash SEC. I know the UNC game was a gut punch – we don’t care that it hurt your feelings. But I’m glad it’s got you scrambling searching for a lot of data to convince yourself why your NBA D League coach is the man. He’s got you one title, which is all that is relevant to this thread.

Lite's system is completely out-of-sync with L1C4. And no U of L coach is gonna determine the process by which the athletic department operates.

Obviously, the same isn't true at LPT.

"Elite program," my a$$...

Yep, you've caught me...just a long, long, drawn out con on my part. My plan was to post on here sporadically for years...which I've done, amassing over 3,000 posts....slowly but surely seeping my hidden love for UK into the message board until finally I had turned this Louisville message board into a Kentucky message board, but alas, you've caught me.

Or...alternative theory....I'm a life long Louisville fan who doesn't believe every thing Rick says and does is golden and that people who complain and point fingers at Calipari are too blinded by their hatred to see that even though he's only got 1 title, his system has been very, very successful and will continue to be successful.

This isnt about Coach Pitino. No one here will ever nominate him for sainthood.

Caliperi's system is NOT successful in conjuction with number one recruiting classes, NBA all stars and NBA ready players, coupled with a cakewalk conference.

When a fanbase buys number one recruiting t-shirts, ( what other fanbase does)
its calling your shot that has ended up in failure. Its fun to dominate, win, get to multiple final fours, however in the end, its all about Titles.

GS has the most wins in a NBA season, yet didnt win the Title. Failure.

You can admire caliperi up close or afar. No one is green eyed of one and done, top 2 recruiting classes that SuCkS and now Duke are producing. Both were top 2, and neither are playing on the Final weekend.

I've never once argued that Calipari hasn't blown multiple chances to win titles. Cal should have at least 2 if not 3 titles as he had the overwhelmingly most talented teams in the country 3 times and allowed an average UConn team to beat him in the title game. So, if your end measuring stick is simply titles...then a lot of coaches are failures. Rick's been a failure in 15 of his 16 years here and in more than half of those seasons he's coached teams that had absolutely zero chance to win a title.

You're only claiming that titles are the final measuring stick because its the one area where Calipari hasn't distanced himself. By absolutely any other measure of success you can choose then Cal is absolutely killing it.

The fact remains that every coach has teams that should have won have titles and didn't...ULs 05, 08-09 and 13-14' teams come to mind. You can't expect that just because a coach has a boatload of talent that its either a title or failure. The fact remains Cal's getting that talent, he's winning games, he's going deep in March and he's a team capable of winning it all 6 out of his 8 years. If thats failure, then sign me up.

:p Gotta admit, that made me chuckle.

If any other fan base in the sport was subjected to Cal's results at Kentucky they'd be elated. This includes Louisville.

I do agree with strongtino. he should have won at least another title. But if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. The same is true for every program. Pitino should have won a few years back when MSU beat him. Not winning the title doesn't equal total failure. UK is on top of the mountain with Cal. Take it from this fan, we are happy and you would be too.

Yes,and don't forget 2014 when Pitino was not allowed to play the first half with his whole roster because Hancock got his 2nd foul.We were going back2 back before that.He was killing Young,on his way to a career game.

Jk...about the roster thing.

It's so easy to sit back and say "should have , should have, should have". Every team has a "should have" story or two. The point is, the tourney is tough. It's wacky and it's unpredictable. You can't assume success just because you have blue chip talent no more than you can if you have a team full seniors. We are lucky that our respective teams have had a pretty successful stretch. I give credit to both Rick and Cal. They know how to navigate the tournament. But you will still have years where you flop out.
