GA Tech

Williams actually went out and talked to his pitcher. It worked. Eberle still needs to find the strike zone more consistently. The offense is giving him a HUGE cushion as it stands at 7-0 Cards in the 2d with 1 out. Rose and Munroe with back-to-back HRs.

8-0 with back-to-back-to back HRs. EKjr pounds the third HR - all three to right field.

Let's build the momentum boys! Perfect time to start getting hot.

I think the tv guys said 13 runs in an inning is a team record for the Cards. That was a lot of fun. Amazing how an explosive offense helps the performance of a pitcher. Eberle pitched a good game. Started a little shaky, but settled in. A very solid and impressive road win.

This was another example of why I referred in an earlier post “as this team being schizophrenic”. Anxious to see how we respond this afternoon, and again on Sunday. Aside from FSU and UNC, it looks like there are several teams competing for who is the 3rd best ACC team.

Yes, very good win! I too wonder how they come out today. Will they be focused? Or, do they struggle to even get guys on base - we have seen that movie before.

We're all hoping that the Vandy win helped to get this team going for the stretch run.

Renewed focus,pep-in-the-step,whatever you want to call it. The offense has to be the best part of this team-no choice. Yesterday was a great start.

Mac talked about the pitchers after the Vandy game and basically said he needed 2 to 3 more guys to step it up and become Dawgs for this team to have any chance of making noise postseason.

I have ACC softball on the ACC network. No UL game. Also no game on ACCNX. ??? And no radio wtf? Ok - When did the game get moved to moved to 6PM?

I checked the Atlanta weather. Yea appears to be showers-storms in the area. You would think the ACC network would give us a heads up.......

I think we are going to play 2 on Sunday. Rain is really coming down. Radar does not look promising. Edit- May not get any game in on Sunday. Heavy rain and T-Storms all day into late evening.

Looking at the forecast, getting 2 in is gonna be tough. Not sure 1 is possible.

Bad start. Hope the bats are alive to help. Forbes struggles to throw strikes consistently and this results in him throwing too many pitches. First inning and he is already at 35 pitches. This rate he’ll give us a whole two innings. He just walked a guy so his 36 pitches will most likely hit 40.
Oh, Ga Tech 3, Cards 0.

I just don’t see very much “12 to 6” movement on Forbes’ pitches. The velocity is still there, but good collegiate hitters love those mid 90’s fast balls with no break.

Good Lord,2025 and we can't get a shot from the one angle that's not blurry.

This one announcer is woefully biased against us and almost openly rooting for GA Tech.

Any pitcher is really going struggle if they can’t control their off speed stuff. No pitcher will be successful if they can’t locate their fastball.

Hitters today can turn any fastball around. Forbes can’t throw his off speed stuff consistently for strikes. Hitters can just sit up there looking fastball. Forbes fastball has zero movement and can’t really locate it. He is working from behind so he is going to be hit.

It explains why he is getting hit and his strikeouts are way down against the better hitter ACC teams.

Shortened to 7 innings, not much time for any late game heroics. Better get it going now.

Hott looking at one right down the middle.

They're swinging like they could use a Bloody Mary or two. Hope they can wake up for game 2

The 1st inning told me everything I needed to know when Forbes walked the lead-off man, then got behind every hitter he faced. No surprise when the walk becomes the first run, and a wild pitch is responsible for the 2nd run. Only thing missing was the HBP.

We turned 4 DPs Friday, yet somehow the pitching staff cannot understand why control is so important to this team’s success.

Last weekend and this one exactly what this team is.

The offense has to get guys on base for any chance to carry the erratic pitching. They sure didn't today. We are what we are.

I was thinking it sure would be nice if we were getting walked a little more like opposing teams are against us 🤔

Strange series. Cards go gang busters game one, G2 weather delayed, then Tech pitching goes nuclear. But, it wasn’t like it was dominating pitching. Cards put the bat on the ball. “Hit ‘em where they ain’t,” the Cards did the opposite.

On to Bellarmine.

Yes,the pitching was better by GA Tech yesterday, but boy we sure oblige their efforts by hacking away at everything in the zip code. We're gonna have to get more, more, more in the bottom half of the lineup. Our best teams were always strong there. Idk...
