Something I heard a couple days ago but was hesitant to post as it might be “sunshine pumper” perceived.

VT and Satt were supposed to meet yesterday or today based on travel schedules. Sounds like it’s today. They’ve spoken prior but this is face to face.

VT doesn’t want to fire SS. He wants him to figure this out and be successful. He mostly wants to know there’s a plan to fix it. That’s the challenge. VT isn’t going to demand/dictate SS make changes to the staff. That’s not how he operates. Feels you hire the best leader and let them decide that. And Ss is loyal to Brown, it’s his guy. No one thinks he’s going to fire him.

The question becomes what kind of plan can be laid out that would ensure confidence things will get better? For most fans, something short of staff overhaul is probably not enough. Don’t get the sense Vince will cave to the pressure especially if he feels Ss has a good plan.

Ultimately what probably happens is SS has to decide if he wants to deal with this. Outside of Lou, he’s still highly thought of as a coach, and he has a great agent. He can land somewhere else. If the plan isn’t good enough or clear to improve, maybe they mutually agree to walk away.

Don’t think he’s getting fired though. Wildcard in it, maybe Brown walks away for new job.
