FSU over UVA

This league is just crazy. Never know what's going to happen on any given day/night.

We beat UK at home, get waxed by UVA, then go on to handily beat IU.

UVA beats us handily, then turns around and loses to FSU.

Duke and UNC both lose to unranked teams.

Gonna be a crazy season.

Syracuse got plastered by BC, the bottom half of the conference is showing they can't be taken lightly. Maybe Boeheim should've hung it up after the surprise FF run last year.

FSU showed how you beat Virginia's defense. You have at least one guy light it up. Shoot over the defense. That's the problem with the Cards against Virginia. FSU's Bacon scored 29 points making six 3pters. We needed Mitchell to shoot like he did against IU and score 25 points to beat Virginia. All of Mitchell's 3's against IU were just as difficult as the ones he had against Virginia. He just made more against IU.

Against Virginia you need a strong post man with passing skills and at least one pure outside shooter. David Padgett would have ate up Virginia's double the post defense and Kyle Kuric, Jerry Smith and Luke Hancock would have drained the 3's. Pitino recruited hard this year for shooters but this team besides McMahan have no pure 3 pt shooters. Anas is our best post player who can pass but he's so weak he gets pushed around by Virginia.

As soon as the Cards get some pure shooters and skilled post men, the ugly losses to Virginia will end. They will be ugly wins.

Im pretty sure the recruits for next year can shoot. I think that was one of the big reasons he recruited them because of their ability to make shots.

There was one specific play that I remember against VA. We passed it into JJ in the low post who correctly tried to kick it back out to an open DM but it wasn't a perfect pass. Mitchell mishandled it a bit and still shot it as if there were two defenders around him when there wasn't any. Of course he missed the shot badly but that's what their defense does to you.
