Look, while they are in the ACC, I hope they do well. I want all ACC teams to do well. And I get where FSU is coming from for wanting to leave the ACC. Who doesn’t want a bigger payday? But, damn, they have whined and bitched so much. You got to back that up on the field. They failed. They deserve the ridicule.

I think it's clear that their success last season was mostly due to Jordan Travis at QB. He made them better than they should have been and his injury ended things for them.

Based on what? Why on earth would the B1G do that? What suggests anything like that?

The BIG wants access to the huge Florida TV market. I am no fan of FSU, but it is perceived as its best entry inside SEC territory.
I recall many on this site who repeated that same misinformation about UL qualification to the ACC. It is all about money, and many of the historical perceptions have evaporated since the conference expansion. FSU doesn’t deserve anything, but it’s a mistake to minimize their attraction to the BIG, along with UNC and the Charlotte TV market.
Florida and Miami are AAU accredited. Florida State is not. The Big 10+8 loves that AAU status no matter the money. Nebraska pulled a bait and switch with them.
FSU has a huge hurdle in terms of obtaining a favorable release from the ACC, but if somehow they work out an acceptable financial arrangement, they will accept the BIG invitation; something FSU has been negotiating for over a year.

For argument sake, the entire ACC could be candidates for expansion; however, as far as your suggestion that both UNC and UVA are more attractive than FSU; there is no evidence that either one is pursuing efforts to leave, or have been negotiating with the BIG.
Remember that if the ACC emerges successfully in this legal dispute, the conference could remain as a viable entity that would not only survive, but could attract others in its own expansion.

The state of North Carolina governing body of education passed a bill last year regarding conference realignment. The Bill stated that no North Carolina school can leave the ACC unless the other schools are included in a package deal I don’t know how binding that is.
After living in NC for almost 25 years I doubt UNC will go anywhere without NC State. I could be wrong and perhaps they still schedule them on the schedule. Its not UK vs U of L but it is as important in NC. Also have to consider the UNC/Duke rivalry in basketball.
