There is a lot of discussion about football crowds and I have some insight for one reason, I'm old. Thousands of fans that followed the Cards from Cardinal Stadium to Papa John's no longer attend games. There are various reasons but mostly they have simply 'aged out'. My wife for one can no longer walk from the parking lot to our seats. In the sections around me at least 25 people no longer attend games. Some dropped out because of Covid and never renewed but many simply didn't renew because of age or indifference. A 35-year season ticket holder recently told me that he had had enough of "racial garbage" such as Black Lives Matter and other things that imply "he's a racist". Sad, but true. Of course, losing home games in the 4th quarter doesn't help but everyone has a different reason for not attending games. Somehow UofL is going to have to develop additional fans and the millennials don't seem interested.
