Field Hockey to face Penn St. in NCAA Tournament

Louisville field hockey is in the NCAA Tournament !

The Cards will go to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on Penn State (15-3) in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Michigan’s Phyllis Ocker Field.

Host Michigan (14-5) earned the overall No. 4 seed and will face Albany (15-4) at 12 p.m. The winners of the first-round matches will meet Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Cards played and defeated both Penn State and Michigan in the regular season, downing each by 2-1 scores. The Cards beat the Nittany Lions at their place while defeating Michigan at Trager.

The Cards got in as an "at large" squad --- one of five ACC schools to make the 18 team tournament, along with #1 seed UNC, Virginia, Wake Forest and Syracuse.

Man, talk about a nose-dive. I’m not sure what happened to this squad the second half of the season. Today, Penn St is handing UofL their asses. Last check it was 4-0 Lions.
