Engstler named as semifinalist for Cheryl Miller Award

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced today that University of Louisville senior forward Emily Engstler is one of five finalists for the 2022 Cheryl Miller Award. The award recognizes the best small forward in NCAA WBB DI.

The other four finalists for the 2022 Cheryl Miller Award are Ashley Joens (Iowa State), Rhyne Howard (Kentucky), Haley Jones (Stanford) and Madi Williams (Oklahoma).

Joens won the award last year.

No date or time has been announced yet for naming the winner, but it'll be in conjunction with the point guard, shooting guard, power forward and center awards.

Emily’s overall game should not be overlooked. Many of these awards like the flash (high scoring, etc). For Emily she has great stats in multiple areas - she has been so great for UofL.

I hope she wins it because she deserves it and you’re right she has been a huge addition to the team.
