OK, I am not ready to predict any more great things just based on last night’s come from behind win, but I definitely saw some of the potential last night that I had expected in pre-season. Transfers West, Locke and Faulkner each performed closer to expectations, and Cross had a valid excuse given his recovery from Covid. Seeing Williamson start and respond was equally encouraging and having Curry showing an ability to contribute meaningful minutes against a very tall, experienced front line means Williams can get some much needed time to rest going forward.

Ellis and Dre Davis both continue to display quickness and athleticism, but they each still lack control; they were the only two who failed to compliment their teammates last night, as turning the ball over cost some critical possessions.

Make no mistake, that WF team is very formidable opponent that will beat a lot of teams before this season ends.

Mack said that Faulkner is really just now becoming the player he was before his ankle injury and surgery. I had forgotten he had been injured before coming here. Him and West together sharing ball handling duties looked like they compliment each other well.

Curry could finally add that post game dimension to the team that they have been sorely missing. If he can be at least a threat to score down low it will help our shooters a lot.

Not sure what the future holds but I'd keep Sam starting. The guy is just not comfortable off the bench IMO. He needs a set role as starter and you see how he responded last night when locked into starting role minutes.

I know there are a lot of pieces and parts but there are things Sam can do that most of the rest of the roster can't - #1 get to the FT line. I know he has issues what non All American player doesn't? Let him play free and I think you get more of what you saw last night. Who else wouldn't like to see that consistent 12&8 with a dunk in traffic and 7FTA?

Yeah, majority of the guys stepped up last night that got the call. Still time left in the season they need a T4 ACC finish.

I think the next game will tell us if the team has turned the corner or not. Can they handle a little prosperity?

I agree about keeping Sam starting. They added that curl for Sam so he could catch the ball going toward the hoop to great effect last night. It really helped get him going and added a new wrinkle to the offense.

The fact is, this team can't reach much success with both Withers and Sam putting up goose eggs. Sam has shown flashes and it'd be good to keep building on that.

Not bad considering all the rust. These positive threads won't go a long ways but I'll try to do my part.
I'm with you on that sentiment. Maybe I'll start watching games with both eyes!

There's been too much grinding down of this program the last four years for me to get optimistic after one game. We'll see...

I run this same offense with my 5th grade team and I go nuts watching UofL not cutting and/or not looking at the cutter. Ball movement, crisp cuts, and good passing leads to points. Keep it simple!

so nice to see some energy at the Yum center. the YUM could reallly use a fans only section that is close to the floor. something like the Cameron Crazies at Duke.

also, i really love when the marching band plays. but this is missing? i haven't heard or seen them in a while.

Marching band at basketball game? Do you mean the pep band? School was out which is why you didn’t see the students in one of the ends. They usually hold up cardboard cutouts to distract the opponents when shooting foul shots.

marching band, pep band. whatever it's called.
point is that whoever runs the Yum should spice up the atmosphere. make it the best college arena in the world. it's too corporate. too many rich disinterested folks on the botom levels.

Alwasy WF loses again. The league is terrible.
LOL i've noticed a trend teams we play and beat that have been doing good prior. We start to feel good about the win and that team turns around and loses to a lesser one . SMH IDK just keeps that doubt in the back of my mind flowing again considering how we had to win that game. Really don't know where we are as a team i guess good or bad? Million dollar question

I heard that Furman, DePaul, WKU, NCST and WF all lost last night …is that correct ?

Caught GT at the right time. They will get healthy and be a pretty good team.
I'll take the ACC road win.

One thing I've noticed is that this team is more capable of coming back from a deficit than Macks past teams here.

Of course they should try not to make a habit of having to do that, but in the past if the team got down by 6 or more points it seemed that they simply couldn't make a comeback.
