He is our lone guard, maybe even lone player, that can blow by his man and create. The guy is really fast. If he becomes a better passer he can be even more dangerous.

Still, Ellis brought it tonight.

18 pts 2 rebs off the bench and our only scoring for a long stretch. If he can improve in a couple of areas and harness his quickness a bit more, he can be a great player.

Hard not to think Russ Smith, especially at the offensive end. That's me anyway.A 2guard mentality in a point guard body.
If he improves his defense,it's hard to keep him off the floor.
Of course,Locke doesn't do a lot on the defensive end either.
Without his breakout type game we get smoked tonight.

He is “all of the above” …..so glad to see that 2nd half performance. He had two unforced TOs earlier in the game that might have effected some negatively, but this young man is confident and skilled in ways that go beyond anyone else on the roster.

I have been critical of Mack’s use of his rotation, but he deserves credit for staying with El despite the early TOs, as he saw how his quickness was so effective against Pitt’s defense.

Agree with the Russ comparisons. Of course not saying he's as good as him, but when El gets going, and with his speed, he can score in bunches. He can also shoot the 3 which only helps him get to the rim because you can't back off and leave him open at the arc.

What Ellis and majority of this team lacks is good hands. They are poor at catching, ball-handling, and grabbing loose and rebounds. Until they focus in these, they are average at best. I wonder why individuals have not on this.
