"Really, it's because they had their guards coming in, and I feel like, KP, he wanted a change. I feel like that's something that I needed as well," Ellis told Richardson. "They brought in Skyy Clark, they promised him things. They probably told him that I wasn't coming back, because we all thought I wasn't.

"For me to try to come back, and they promised him things, that was gonna mess things up with their connection. So me just leaving, going to go start fresh, I feel like that's something that was gonna be in my best interest."

SKy clapped back @ El and told him KP promised him nothing and expected him to come in and compete .Bascially SKY let El know he was coming regardless if El was returning or not. EL was scared of SKY still don't understand ARK as his destination though. However i can see the fit as that style is just running and gunning so it might work for him. Doubt it though.

EL is a good example of why i never hold any new coaching staff responsible for teams they take over at any program. Why coaches all say they want a fit for their particular program. Until they get their guys coaches always talk about getting to know the recruit. I can remember KP speaking about El and most times he worded carefully . EL is different that's for sure.

El wasn’t worth the money he was asking for. He’s a good scorer but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player throw the ball in the stands more than him. His man consistently dropped 20 a game.
Also lead the team in turnovers.

El, you could have stayed and competed for playing time but you chose not to. C’mon man…the choice was yours and to took off. Best to just stay mute about it.

I think this is a situation where its best for both parties if El leaves.

El didn't choose Payne or this staff and was asked to do more than he capable of last year. El's at his best when he's playing 20-25 mins a game not 35+. El's a combo guard - not a PG. He could have easily played with Sky especially considering he and Sky would have been the only "real" guards on the roster.

But instead of going somewhere that he could excel and had the best fit he took the highest offer presented to him and went to a team with a million guards where he's going to likely play 15 mins a game and do absolutely nothing to further develop his skills or showcase his game to pro scouts.

The moving on makes sense. I don’t blame him. However stop talking about a rumor like it was fact. If KP or Clark told him that fine but don’t just make stuff up. The bottom line is he didn’t want to fight for court time at Louisville. The irony is he going to have to fight like crazy to find the court at Arkansas. It maybe exactly what he needs. We shall see.

Nobody really knows what’s going on with NIL.

Walz says 95% of the kids he recruits feel the same way. Ellis went with the money. You’re exactly right, no need to overanalyze it…
and for the most part thats what they should do. Ellis is almost certainly never going to sign an NBA contract - he should make money now, while its there. I don't blame these kids at all for following the money.

The slapdicks are getting their comeuppance. They advanced pay for play way into the deep end of the pool and now wanna complain that the water's over their head.

The rest of the college athletics world will have to decide when they've had enough. If NIL and all of its warts are not something you wanna participate in, eventually you have to change what you're doing. That's drop the sport(s), or play it at a different level...
