EKU job...

I believe I heard Jody Demling mention that he thought Scotty Davenport would be a great hire for EKU. I would agree with that although I'd hate to see him leave Bellarmine.

Seems to me Scotty should get a call from the likes of IU, Texas, Syracuse...He's that good a coach IMO.

EKU...nah.

Scotty's at or pushing 60 years old, and he's in a really good situation. He should think twice about a career move...

I thought 60 was the new 40 Zipp? I'm not saying he would. At this point he should do what's in his heart for sure. He turned 59 this past Jan. I'd say he still has 6-10 yrs left if he wants. Tenn just hired Rick Barnes who will be 61 in July.

FWIW...and I've said it before, IMHO, Scotty Davenport would be a slam dunk at IU. He could coach there another 10-15 yrs if he wanted. Knows the area and culture as well as anyone. Hour and a half from Louisville etc. etc. Indiana kids would love playing for him too. I would love to see him give it a run.

I love Scotty Davenport but you seriously think one of the top all-time programs would hire a 60 year old D2 coach? If IU is worried about if "Indiana kids" like playing for him then they have a serious inferiority complex. Much like UofL, Mich St, Syracuse - Indiana recruits at a national level, not a state level.

Hearing that assistnat coach from Florida on short list if he interested. Remember new AD at EKU has UK ties

No Knuckle I don't think they will. But I do seriously think he'd get the job done given the chance. There's probably a 99% chance that he re-ups for another 5 yrs. w BU at the end of his contract, 2016. Who knows what's on his agenda.
