His best game was the Hawks blowout of the Nets Saturday night. The 6'10" forward scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 from deep, and grabbed seven rebounds in 22 minutes. He was originally signed as insurance after Thaddeus Young went down with a knee sprain. Now, with Alan Anderson troubled by an ankle sprain, he's likely to get some of his minutes.
In an interview with Lenn Robbins at Monday's morning shootaround, Clark said he's happy to have another chance and said he hoped to leave his mark on the defensive end.
The Nets had until Monday afternoon to renew his 10-day contract for another 10 days, which effectively would have been for the remainder of the season. The team option is non-guaranteed. That makes Clark's contract ideal as trade ballast in larger deals. It can be traded for full value but the receiving team could waive him and save money if they wished. As a six-year veteran, Clark would make $1.2 million next season.
