Dino Gaudio - head asst per J. Goodman

Per Jeff Goodman, Chris Mack is offering head asst job to Dino Gaudio. I really hope this is true. He knows the ACC and got screwed by wake forest.

He has been very complimentary of UofL throughout all the bs.
I like him too. Hope he accepts.

I had a suspicion this might be in the works. They were both Prosser assistants at one time.

I'm fine with this as he has experience, plus they've worked together. Will there be any change in compliance staff? We need to makesure we stay out of the news, plus, there have been rule changes since Dino coached.

i actually know nothing about him except as stated before he always seems to have positive thoughts on our situation.. what happened at wake that he got screwed?

what happened at wake that he got screwed?

He was the HC for only 3 years, won 20 + games twice, 19 the other. His 2nd year they finished 2nd in the ACC and lost in the NCAAs in the 1st Rd. His 3rd and final year they actually lost in the 2nd rd of the NCAAs.

61-31, two straight NCAA appearances... not the type of resume for a coach to be fired, especially at WF. Job performance was certainly good enough to be retained.

To compare, Danny Manning is heading to his 5th year at WF, hasn't won 20 games, has lost 19, 19, and 20 in his 4 years with one "first four" appearance.

Did a quick Google Glass I was surprised he was so successful and let go. Something else must have been a factor for sure.

Still haven't seen an "official" announcement yet, but Dino Gaudio is accepting congratulations on the job via Twitter
