Defensive Coordinator Head Scratcher

I didn’t know much about Lorenzo Ward until I read the article below in today’s Courier Journal. Take a look at the “Coaching Successes” part of the article. With that history and that kind of success why the hell wasn't he our defensive coordinator instead on BVG?

Why wasn't Vance Bedford?? I mean as long as we were doing the whole 2.0 thing...

Just saying that we had a guy right there (probably shaking his head a lot!!!) who had far better creds than BVG. Not in the loop there but it sure seems, based terrible defensive performances, that at some point you would look at options other than BVG, especially when you had a great candidate standing right next to you!

The big question is can BVG get Lorenzo Ward fired before the end of the season? Typically it takes him an entire year to get HCs on the hot seat but Ward is just an interim. I think BVG is just horrible enough to do it.

Ward must have turned it down because he was just as qualified as anybody else we could have got.

I’m guessing because BP made a poor decision. One of many.

Ward or hell, take a chance on Court Dennison---unreal recruiter and CAN NOT be any worse than Sirmon or BVG. I think it only supports the narrative that CBP could not build staff of high profile assistants.
