Louisville baseball will be part of Pool B with second-seeded Clemson and 11th-seeded Miami during the ACC Tournament, the conference announced Saturday.

The schedule will be revealed Sunday. Pool play begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Cardinals, who are seeded seventh, ended the regular season 32-22 overall and fourth in the ACC’s Atlantic Division at 16-14. That included a regular season-ending sweep over Notre Dame for the team’s fourth conference series win. Eddie King Jr. led U of L in the series, going 6 for 10 with five home runs and eight RBIs. He enters the tournament hitting .324, fourth best on the team.

The setup could NOT be any better. Play Miami on Tuesday to kickoff the ACCT. Then, get two days off before playing Clemson (and probably their #2 pitcher) on Friday. Also, Clemson plays on Thursday…Cards should be rested.

IF and a big IF, if we can get past Miami given the shenanigans of the last Clemson series, It's going to be interesting.

There is reason to be optimistic given some of the late performances by the younger players, and the opportunity for some of the seniors to resurrect themselves from a disappointing regular season.

There should be no doubt that any success we experience from here on out will depend primarily on our rotation finding and staying in the strike zone; starting behind in the count explains the higher percentage of opponents being rewarded with walks and home runs.

I agree Bardman, get that first win against Miami. Then you are setup for a chance to get an upset against Clemson. If you do win Pool B with a win over Clemson, you have probably earned a spot in the NCAA tourney. This Regardless of what you do in the Semi's or ACC Championship. The ACC is going to get 8-9 bids in the NCAA. With the ACC Tourney seed of # 7. The league is saying UL is the 7th best Team, in a League set to get 8-9 bids in the NCAA. By making the semi's by winning Pool B. It will solidify being in the NCAA Championship. This is my thinking

Up to the team...play yourself in or play yourself out. Can they rise to the occasion? and redeem the season? Time for Coach(es) to do the same and earn that money.
Hopefully we can ride the sweep of ND to build some momentum going into the ACC Tournament and make enough noise to get a NCAA bid.. Pitching, Pitching, Pitching !!

Well said; as fans we can push and pull all we want, but it’s entirely up to the players and coaches to determine their success or failure, and that begins today.
