This game might very well be the turning point for the freshman guard. I hope this game gives his confidence a big boost and Mack showed he has faith in him.

Would've loved for him to hit both ft in regulation but he also could have missed both being a freshman and under pressure he hasn't seen at this level.

His size is a huge advantage and so is his athleticism he still needs to make better decisions and hit free throws. That will come with more playing time we are only half way through the season so there is time.

And if you think about it from a basketball schedule he is really at the beginning of December. Think if he doesnt get hurt and goes through all the practices and plays 15-25 minutes against blah-blah st. Love how he gets to the paint. Finishes with both hands. Just needs to work on decision making, but he makes some nice passes in the same breath! He and Kimble gives us two pretty athletic guards that can pass and score and hopefully finish games. Perry and McMahon can compliment the depth.

He's only behind from a schedule standpoint because the coaching staff refused to get him involved in the non-con part of the schedule EVEN AFTER he was cleared to be full go in early November. He's only now getting his feet under him because of CCM holding him back....

Perry has topped out. He will not get any better. Hell he was better his freshman year. Yep, David and Lamar starting with McMahon and Perry coming off the .bench. I really think Mack should start giving Slzinski minutes. He already burned his r/s, he's so tall he can shoot over most defenders and supposedly he's our best shooter, God knows our offense could use the help.

I'm hoping DJ will be the guy that was needed to step up from this group of freshmen to help this team. We all thought it would be Williamson earlier in the season, but he might not be ready yet.

I think Fresh and Ryan are pretty similar/interchangeable and I like it when they are both on the floor at times; but DJ needs the time...I wouldn't mind seeing him at the 3 spot with Ryan and Fresh in there, Williams at the 5 and whatever scrub he can find to play the 4; get away from the power game, put everybody on the 3pt line and drive/dish just to mix it up a bit. Are you listening CCM!!! something tells me he is not...

Keeping him at about 15-20 minutes should be about right. With freshman, you can’t play them and wear them out. Get him comfortable to play hard for those minutes to build up confidence.

Right now he adds something to the game. He can score and he’s an big/strong athlete. Maybe he’s not the point guard we need, but if the other guards can’t do anything productive the at least let DJ score and use that big body.

then let Sam, Perry, Fresh, and McMahon fight for the other minutes.

Ryan’s shooting can be deadly and defense account for him. His role is set.

Sam has the most potential, but man he just hasn’t had the confidence he’s needed.

Fresh is our best ball handler right now, but boy he can take some bad shots and he isn’t the most athletic.

Perry really I don’t know. He just doesn’t hurt or help. He can score, but he’s not aggressive. When he tries to score he makes terrible decision. He plays good defense, but when his offense is off he pressed on defense and it hurts us.

how would this look

Enoch
Nwora
DJ
McMahon
Perry/Fresh

I think that could give us a small ball edge with 3 decent ball handlers to counter the lack of having a great ball handler.

It has been said many times, you can’t take our heart and hustle (Sutton) off the floor for too long. Right now he’s the only one that brings it all the time.

It's clear that Johnson should be playing about 25 minutes a game. He is potent off of the pick. He's shown he can throw the lob off the pick, he attempted a dunk coming off the pick, and he's done the pick and roll for a slam dunk.

He's very crafty at getting into the lane and has been able to throw over the top of smaller guards. Play the kid.

I saw my lineup of Ryan, fresh, dj, rwora, and Enoch (though I said Williams) for all is 30 seconds!! Maybe coach does read this stuff! Lol

I think now there’s 8-9 guys we roll with

Our best 5 look

Enoch
Nwora/Sutton
Williamson
Johnson
Perry/Kimble

The 3 guard look I think is the best. It gives us multiple ball handlers to make up for the lack of a true point guard. It’s long/athletic enough to defend any team.

Puts less pressure on Enoch and Nwora to create on their own.

Having Sutton, Malik, and Ryan as our key reserves and role players gives us 3 solid options off the bench for energy, length, shooting, etc.

I like the lineup of Johnson, Kimble, Sutton, Nwora, and Enoch. Think it the most potent we can put out there.

Offensively, I think I agree.

I feel like Malik gives this team something on the D end we just haven't been able to get out of Enoch. Malik challenges shots, shuts off drives, just seems to play with a real tenacity and hustle. Enoch is obviously a better offensive player, but I think I am liking the 50/50 split, unless Enoch wants to show some extra gear we've maybe seen flashes of.

Agree Hop.Enoch will eventually play less if he doesn't become a defensive force. Malik is really coming along in that department.

That sweet baby hook that Enoch used so effectively earlier this year should now be pictured on the side of a milk carton, missing. I’m sure other teams are defending it better but when he has had the shot he’s been long or short with it. We need to have that back from him if he’s gonna be an effective scorer. He’s really not a “face to the basket” threat unless he’s beyond the three point line.

Enoch will be just fine. He, like others, is going thru a dry spell. He’ll come around sooner rather than later. Nwora is an All-American and he’ll be fine also. He did grab 8 rebounds yesterday.

GO CARDS - BEAT EVERYBODY!!! God Bless America!!!

With the emergence of Johnson the defense is going to have to focus on more players. This will make it easier for everyone to score. In yesterday’s game Johnson was the star but everyone hit big shots at crunch time.
