Four-star Louisville signee Curtis Williams Jr. was on campus this weekend and recently conducted an interview with National Basketball Recruiting Analyst for 247 Sports, Dushawn London.

“Seeing how they [Louisville] play now makes me excited for next year. I don’t like losing and the guys coming in don’t like it either. Kaleb and I talk about that a lot. For us, coming in and being apart of the rebuild is really special because the history behind Louisville basketball.”

I hope he's right. I'm not high on him just from watching some of his tape but he at least seems to have the right mentality and work ethic. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.

My prediction.
We keep KP (why, I don’t know)

KP convinces our better players to stay

KP convinces our current recruits to show up

KP gets some mid major talent from the portal to join the team

KP gets another player or two from NBA Africa

Next year we still end up south of .500

KP supporters say, “Look at the improvement! Give Kenny one more year!”

KP supporters say, “These players just aren’t that good…it’s not Kenny’s fault!”.

There’s a chance a script like that plays out. People talk about a nightmare this year, but what you’re describing is the real nightmare scenario if you want Payne gone. Just enough progress to convince just enough people that he needs more time.

And when you also consider the millions of dollars it’s gonna take to change coaches if he’s terminated, there’s at least a 50-50 chance you’ll be right…
