Crossroads Classic

Indiana has the Crossroads Classic where IU, Purdue, Notre Dame and Butler rotate playing each other.

Kentucky should start one with Louisville, Western Kentucky, Murray State and Kentucky. Play it in Freedom Hall..call it the Commonwealth Classic or Bourbon Classic.

What do you guys think? Even years UofL would play Western, Odd years UofL would play Murray.

Just to expand on this idea, I wouldn't mind seeing EKU and Morehead State added to the rotation too. The teams could rotate each year and have a triple header! That would be an amazing day of college basketball!

That might water it down a little bit. I like the idea of a "Big 4" type thing more.

Freedom Hall needs a shot in the arm...have this Commonwealth/Bourbon Classic there and move the High School Boys and Girls Sweet 16 there.

Make Freedom Hall Kentucky's version of Hinkle Fieldhouse. Breathe some life back into old girl. Maybe move all the High School Tournaments for winter into Freedom Hall. Maybe convince Bellarmine to go D-1 and move their home games there.

Just kicking around ideas in my head...bored at work. Haha!

I like the idea but I don't think UK would go for it, they hate losing to UL in anything. The thought of them losing to any other in state schools would be disastrous for them. I would rather rotate the site instead of playing in Freedom Hall.
Ever since they turned everything blue in there I swore I would never set foot in there again and I haven't. I remember after they did it sUcK had a game in there and the play by play announcer was Brad Nessler. Brad is a Kentuckian himself and he made the comment that Freedom Hall didn't look right in blue.

Before the KFC center was built,
I proposed UofL host a two day tournament in COruppT arena between
UofL, WKU, EKU , Morehead, and Murray.

SuCkS hosted a game in Freedom Hall every year. UofL should play in their dump.

Id like to see the Cards play at tourney with the afformentioned teams. I do like
playing at WKU, so keep that one in the rotation.

IU used to have TWO home tournaments. IU classic and the hoosier classic.
Playing State teams instead of grand Canyon would be better.
