Watching how bad Duke star Cooper Flagg's turned ankle was, it makes me wonder if he will even be ready for the 1st round of the big dance.

The Cards Reyne Smith has missed two weeks now and his injury didn't look anywhere near as bad as Flagg's.

I'm thinking Duke may not have their star player until the sweet 16 but Duke may not make it there without Flagg. He may have just played his last college game.

But maybe Duke has miracle healers and he's back next week, but he really turned that ankle bad. It reminds me of DeJuan Wheat's ankle injury for Louisville that maybe cost the Cards a final 4 berth.

He tried to play against Texas, but he wasn't anywhere near himself. Even if Flagg comes back, he probably won't be 100 percent.

I remember when Siva sprained his ankle Junior year around early February and the orthopedic surgeon Pitino thought he could fight his way thru in a week. The injury lingered into March because RP didn’t have the the foresight to let it heal.

Flagg won’t play this weekend, doubtful for next and if he does play next weekend he could actually hurt the team.
Meanwhile, our coach appears to understand how serious the injury is and how important it is to have Smith back next week.

Btw,there aren’t any miracle cures for stretched ligaments. They need to be handled with care. I’ve had this injury twice in my lifetime, one of those playing baseball and it ended my summer.

I will be shocked if he plays in the tournament given what I saw, but if he returns this season at all he will be quite limited.

Assuming they lose tonight or in the finals, coupled with Flagg’s…let’s see if they lose that #1 seed…

Duke is scoring at a higher clip when Flagg isn't in the game. So I was told by a friend earlier today. Interesting..
Again,we were fortunate that Reyne sprained his ankle 2 weeks before Flagg.

That's just wishful thinking by Duke fans because no one seriously believes Duke is as good without Flagg.

I didn't say he said they were better. He said they score more when he's out. He probably heard that on ESPN this morning. Btw,he hates Duke. I stored it in the back of my mind for a possible over bet tonight $$$
