I think the OP has it right. I too saw KY leaving the tournament early. You got all the "experts" crowning them champions...BOOM, bottom falls out and all the money on Duke wins.

The OP should have mentioned a time tested proven pattern of WWE entertainment; We all love the rally from behind. Down 9 or whatever and Allen sparks the crowd. Translation: Duke rests their starters while not losing ground due to Allen's excellent free throw shooting.
