Congrats to Matt Bevin and the ridiculously drawn out NCAA investigation...mission accomplished.
LSU was under a dark cloud, fired a promising coach, lost 90% of the players from last year and is now 6-1 after hiring Murray State's ex coach. We can't blame this whole thing on the NCAA. With the way players can move around now days, it's easier than ever to rebuild a team via transfer portal.
Not disagreeing, just noting those 2 were the catalysts to get us to this sorry place we are now.
Is LSU banned from the post season? Was LSU a supposedly repeat offender? Was there talk of the death penalty with LSU?LSU was under a dark cloud, fired a promising coach, lost 90% of the players from last year and is now 6-1 after hiring Murray State's ex coach. KP was a simply a bad hire.
Come on man. Geez! Can't you at least try to comprehend?I mean we got Grad transfers like Carik Jones and Jarred West by Mack so to say it was impossible is idiotic.

When grad transfers started Rick Pitino was the coach. UofL has had grad transfers every year since except this season. What does that tell you?
Has nothing to do with Chris Mack either. Despite a roster with just one guard, no grad transfers decided to come here. There has to be a reason?
Again, every single transfer was told UofL was going to get slammed this year. Not next year or two years from now. The waiting was over. It was coming down this season. It didn't matter if coaches knew UofL wouldn't get penalized, they didn't tell the transfers that.
So I ask you. If you were a transfer would you have came to Louisville when the entire basketball world said it would be foolish to do so?
I just can't believe how many people try to equate past grad transfers with this current roster. It's obvious what happened and it's going to be a one year thing. It's just going to be a long, difficult year.
Well who is he then? Why not just name who this guard is KP turned down. Not true, there is a guard that is starting for a RANKED P5 program today that wanted to come here. The staff passed on him. Would it have magically transformed our season? NO, but I think it goes to show how inept they are at either identifying talent, and/or understanding how to construct a roster.
Sad to see you make excuses for this coach of ours. He is just not a head coach material. Really sad we settle for someone with no head coach experience. Dropping ticket sells will get him out in one year.Come on man. Geez! Can't you at least try to comprehend?

I'm not making excuses out of some loyalty to KP. I too didn't like the hire but it was inevitable. Just like recruits, top level coaches were just not going to take the chance at Louisville not knowing how bad the sanctions were going to be.Sad to see you make excuses for this coach of ours. That hasn’t seemed to work on the football side.Sad to see you make excuses for this coach of ours. He is just not a head coach material. Really sad we settle for someone with no head coach experience. Dropping ticket sells will get him out in one year.
If they really wanted a top level coach - they would have given Pegues a one year deal to see the ncaa outcome.I'm not making excuses out of some loyalty to KP. Everyone was just waiting to see what's going to happen this season so a former Cards player getting his first gig was the sit back and see hiring.
So far it was a terrible mistake but at the same time it looks like it's a necessary outcome to complete the rock bottom status so things can return to the way they're supposed to be.
With no postseason bans and top facilities and basketball pedigree, it's not going to take long for top recruits and eventually a top coach to call the Yum center home.
We just have to endure this season and not make the situation worse.
And I think all of those strong-armers, Eaves, Beard, Maybin, etc, should be required to sit court side for the entirety of every home game this season to enjoy the mess they hoisted upon us.If they really wanted a top level coach - they would have given Pegues a one year deal to see the ncaa outcome.
Heird got basically strong armed / guilted into choosing KP and now the program has been set back multiple years.
And make them pay for it too!And I think all of those strong-armers, Eaves, Beard, Maybin, etc, should be required to sit court side for the entirety of every home game this season to enjoy the mess they hoisted upon us.
The NCAA never moves quickly. But I don’t think any of the schools under investigation were impacted like U of L. And no one self imploded like we did…Does anyone know how many other schools had lingering penalties dragged out for 4 years? Dragging everything out was worse than the penalty it was a virtual death penalty.
