Congrats to Duke.

Just heartbroken that we are so no longer a player. Starting to think we may be gone too far to ever get back.

Naw, we'll never be that far gone. One way or another, we'll get back. Not sure it's with the present setup, but there's just too much tradition here to believe we won't. Hang in there and get behind this baseball team in the meantime, as they try to make history.

Thanks man! Just in a dark place with our basketball program. But, you’re right…cheer the lady Cards on and enjoy this very promising baseball team and wait for the Spring football game!! Thanks for the pick-me-up!

It's tough on us guys that were around when the McCray brothers(omg where are players like these 2?) Gordon and Derek Smith were roaming the halls of Belknap campus. We don't know how lucky we were to have lived thru those times. We'll get back there one day, hopefully before we're too old to enjoy it. And you're welcome. I'm seriously ready to watch this baseball team do something that's never been done over here before, turn Cardinal Stadium back into what it used to be with an exciting brand of football, then hope somehow to bring in some guys like the McCrays and honest to God compete for Ws.

So true, but I fear that ship has sailed. Denny was masterful at identifying talent that others failed to fully understand why he recruited tall athletic guards, and forwards who could be relied to being the ball up the court. Charles Jones set a high bar for “quick jumpers” before anyone ever recognized that quality. Admittedly, we got our fair share of highly rated recruits, but he could find so many others who embraced his direction and complimented those McD All Americans.

Getting funneled the #2, #3, #4, #20, and #27 rated players didn't hurt. They are FR and are hitting their stride. The PG was a 5* a few years ago too. Nice. I will say from what I've seen they are an unselfish team, which is admirable and maybe that is some coaching for that.

Will be interesting to see how they do in the NCAAT.

Making grand statements on any coach based off 1-2 year of data is tricky. Hubert Davis goes to Championship game in Year 1 and returns almost everyone and they miss the tournament. Is he a good or bad coach? UConn win championship under in Kevin Ollie’s 2nd year. He ends up getting fired.

How many coaches get better jobs because of 2-3 weeks in March?

Duke is really good because they get really good players.

Louisville had really good players, too.

They aren’t chumps. They are DI athletes playing at the highest non professional level.

They won 4 games.

Make it make sense.

Didn’t say anything about Louisville players. I said Duke has really good players. Yep they are better than the current Louisville players.

Now that tournament begins, I will be pulling for all of the ACC teams, including Duke. As the ACC performs well in NCAA competition, it increases opportunities for the rest of the league in terms of both selection and seeding. Two of the last four out were ACC teams, something that goes along with out of conference losses.

Ok he is better than 99 percent of the 1st year coaches. Let’s not act like Duke hasn’t had better players that 99 percent of the programs over the last 20 years.

I understand your position on KP. It is a general observation that quick decisions on limited performance data is tricky. That is it. Duke is always going to get better players than most so continuing their success while not guaranteed it is easier. UNC is interesting one to watch they will always get players. That could go either way at the end of last year no one thought they would miss the tournament.

Really good and smart high bb IQ players at that. Who take coaching and instructions to heart...who have the 'IT" it takes to 'not lose'...tradition and usually a friendly whistle in league play that often time carries over to the NCAA-T too. Add that all up and it is tough to beat them.
