“I can’t look into the eyes of players who are tentative and say I am going to leave you out there,” a dejected Payne said in his postgame press conference. “I need to see aggressive players. I need see confident basketball players. And these fans deserve to see confident basketball players. We have to fix it. I don’t have all the answers today. Some of that is psychological, some of that is personality stuff. I can only tell you that it is disheartening to me."

He talks as if he’s a bystander to this sh#% show. Unbelievable.

bad coaching. opponents get open shots if they just pass the ball enough.
El Ellis is standing 4 feet away from the guy he is guarding. so that guy is always open. waste of time for rest of the players to play defense when Ellis is doing that.

This is all so disheartening. Does he really want to be a head coach? You just do t get the sense that he’s a guy worried that he’s colossally blowing this opportunity.

Makes sense. If he is going to struggle with nearly all facets of the job we shouldn’t be surprised he has weird post game quotes too.

Winning fixes that but where the hell are the wins coming from?

I do not see this team winning at FSU the way they are playing right now. If this team manages to somehow lose to FAMU and Lipscomb…. look this thing is off the rails now. You lose those 2 games and we may truly be looking at something unprecedented. Just uncharted territory for Louisville basketball. It’s scary.

If they lose at FSU, the “pressure” to win against FAMU and Lipscomb will be real. How crazy is that? Just unbelievable. I’m fully expecting unless something changes for those games to be nail biters. Crazy.

I've watched two of FSU's games and they do a lot of the same dumb things the Cards do. They look disjointed on defense, giving up wide open shots. Teams have a lot of confidence offensively against the Noles.

On offense though they have more than one guard and have a player who has already made over thirty 3's.

They have lost by biggers numbers against mid-majors than the Cards but have not been as blown out by ranked opponents.

I forsee a Cards defeat in single digits.

They have a more experienced coach...

I wish that I had spoken up when a few suggested Scotty Davenport as a candidate as Head Coach.

In fairness, Jr, Wade and those others who invested in promoting KP as THE CANDIDATE, deserve credit for stepping up and I am sure they thought they were serving UL Basketball and Kenny Payne in the best interest. I doubt anyone could have predicted the sequence of events playing out now.
