heard him with paul rogers earlier today on the way to the post office. they have a multi point metrics system to eval players. then have five point eval of can they improve, do they make others better, etc. then follows skip prossers ABC, attitude, bball and character. if you dont eat breathe and love bball 247 this is no place for you. then they look at intangibles, then they call recruits former coaches as far back as they can get. their eval process has every coach involved. no fluke these players are here. every one has to go thru enormous background checks basically. like cia hiring you. all hi bball iq, all make teams better, all high character, all selfless.
This is why fans and businesses can feel good about the future of the program. Specific to their vetting process he understands you are only as good or bad as the people you bring into the program. With a small roster one bad apple can derail a team. They have to be extremely disciplined in this process.

yes, he talked about that too as i now recall. everyone one the same page, can't have one doing his own thing, trying to be a star, not being a Team player. unselfish, sharing, caring, and sometimes daring, but never the I. even better, PK is a lifer for bball and as long as NIL doesn't burn him out, he's not going anywhere except the NBA.
another thing i remember coach saying was that when they look at players, they call the coaches at all the previous schools possible to get info. he said basically no coaches have called him to ask about any players that transferred under him. he said the former coach would be the first person he calls about any player entering the portal but no one calls him. he's about the person not just the player
Really like that CPK and staff do their due diligence in forming a team. I think we're definitely seeing that in action as so many different guys can go off and be the hero of the game and they all seem bought in totally. Just a really cohesive unit with the same goals in mind.
