I mean really, I think the one sided officiating over the years for the guy has become so engrained that if it's not just completely over the top for him he isn't going to understand it. He's convinced himself they got hosed out there, but more than likely his words are for future games to get more of a fix in.

Duke shoots 25 3s and 28 FTs

So Cards go to the paint most the night, yet Duke is getting a parade to the FT line. And K's little 2nd half adjustment of basically having his guards ride the UofL dribblers when UofL has the ball seems overlooked during his post game analysis. He also seems to overlook Duke clearly fouling UofL as they get dunked on.

His players had awful turnovers some of that was UofL length but it wasn't due to some attacking press. The Cards didn't press at all, or really pressure. So the guy is literally making up excuses, and sadly probably influencing future games. Not a fan of his.

A lot more like his mentor than most want to admit. But, it’s nothing new - the he’s been like that for years. He’s got Knight down even in the handshake line. Stops and chats when he wins, does the quick handshake/blow by when he loses.

After reading that I went back and watched the game again. I have no clue what he talking about. We played great D but it was nothing like he was talking about. Disappointed in what he had to say because when we “Boomed” his team in the Indianapolis Regionals in 2013 he was very complimentary. I halfway like the guy simply because of “THE SHOT” by Laettner and all the angst it still gives the slappies each March.

I think both!

Freedom of movement in basketball has to be called equally both ways for it to be true freedom of movement. Just like his mentor, BK, he can be very ungracious in defeat. Gracious in victory, not so much in defeat. A truly human virtue.

The heat of the action can blur your vision and perception when you are on the losing side of the scoreboard. Sad for him to let his lesser character come out after this game. Next! He's no John Wooden or Denny Crum disciple for sure.

This is why you don't complain about the refs. It makes you look like a whiney bitch and truthfully you should feel like one too. Be better than the refs, and the Cards did. Louisville won in spite of playing a top program on a court they never lose on, in spite of getting less than half the foul shots. I'll always respect Coach K because of how he handled the Kevin Ware situation (he gets a lifetime pass from me for that) but when you whine about refs you look like a bitch, so don't do it. The Cards won, no excuses!

I have not had respect for him since '86 title game when he whined after the game that better team had not won. He gained some back in '13 from his emotional response to Kevin Ware injury and props given for game. In the end, I think he is a good human but as the thread title states...a coach with a sense of entitlement.

My take on this is that Coach K just doesn’t respect Coach Mack and the Louisville program. He was only complimentary a few years ago because of Pitino. Pitino did have a lot of clout. The coaching fraternity is a good ole boys club and Coach K is its leader.

Coach K just hates losing. He feels like he doesn’t deserve to lose and will do anything to justify that he did nothing wrong. Rick was the same way.

That’s what winners do, they become so obsessed with winning that they become crazy in the pursuit of winning big. It’s why they win so much, but also what makes them such jerks.
