Clemson series pushed up a day.

Maybe we are a year away?

Exactly what I was telling my son just about an hour ago.
Paging the Louisville offense. Louisville offense, please respond ASAP.
Came in worrying about the pitching and now it's the hitting. Our Freshmen pitchers growing up. I was not sold on our hitters until they did it against really good pitching.
We've been basically shutdown for the last 14-15 innings. 🥱

I don’t think you can say we are year a way in this environment. I think the house settlement will be a factor. It may actually help Louisville. Without it NIL could rip this team apart next year. Just think if you had the kid that transferred to TN on this team. Offensively it is even better and defensively as well.

I do like the freshman arms, they are wildly inconsistent but when they are on they are pretty good.

In both games couldn’t get the big hit.

Oh boy! Pike swings at that pitch that starts a foot out of the zone every time. Smdh

Time to shake it up? Well,Tuesday maybe..

Great start. Fast ball waist high over the middle of the plate. Maybe you get away with that if you have some velocity on the pitch, Mchael does not. Mac said team was suffering from a lack of juice due to something going around the clubhouse. For what it's worth.

Well,he just used the word ‘poached’ talking about his players(i.e. Kilen and Humphrey)

We are officially a small market team.

…and there are people who don’t think players (reps) are being contacted before the portals open up. Poached is a Great word.

Mac was down near despondent in that interview. Again, he fell back on his preference for coaching guys in his system over 3-4 years. I just don't know if that's realistic in today's game.

The likeliness of him moving on to an $EC school seems inevitable

Couple of things:
Mac is right about these guys battling. They are tenacious if nothing else.

Biven really starting to get back to where he was last season.

Cards take lead in top of 9th. Did not like EKJ’s seemingly lack of hustle on the dbl-play.

If he's still nursing, why's he playing outfield?? Yes, it has to be a bit of an issue with his teammates.

What have we done to have angered the baseball gods so much? Can’t close for shit.

Pitch-hitting for Alecia was a mistake, something Sean Moth questioned at the time; sure enough the game winning grounder to the SS was the difference in this game. With that said, our inability to throw strikes has haunted UL baseball for several consecutive seasons now, and I am not sure we will ever win compete for an ACC championship until we find a pitching coach who emphasizes control over velocity. How many times have we all preferred giving up a HR rather than walking the leadoff man?

Great win. Quad 1 win away from home vs 2nd or 3rd ranked team in the country. But geeez, I think we have a problem with the glove at 3d. Shiver's error was a killer but then he comes back and makes a spectacular play. Never seen Mac that mad.

Shriver is a backup and usually at SS. Offense kept getting a lead and the pitching staff kept giving it up. CDM just will not part with Williams and unfortunately that may be his downfall- not NIL.

Yea, Williams has been with Mac for 20 years he's not going anyplace.

In his post-game radio show Mac said Alecia couldn't go any longer due to his thumb injury.

This was a really good series. Maybe the worse overall game in the series but found a way to win. Good group that is really young.

I have been critical of the staff but NIL has wrecked how they run a program. The reality they built the program on developing players and the entire floor shifted on them. They don’t have the deep pockets so they stick to high school recruiting. It really is the only way for those with small NIL.

I agree that the series itself wasn’t awful. All close games. But let’s be realistic. Unforced errors caused these losses. At the end of the day they went 1-2 and no one is going to care whether the losses were by 1 run or by 10. The pitching problems started before NIL.

Shiver and Kamau 'Pyle' Neighbors get huge assists for back to back defensive gems in the twelfth to get this one across the finish line.
On a weekend where the offense was stymied at every turn, they pulled it together with determination to prevent the sweep.👏👊💪

There were several troubling things to me,the most glaring being the failure of our offense to produce at critical times except the last third of the game yesterday. My jury is still out as we start to see much better pitching.

2-2 for the week against ranked opponents. There’s not a program in the country that wouldn’t take that.

The Clemson series was high quality baseball. Wasn’t perfect, but felt like a heavy weight fight.

Beat UK (again)

Can’t argue that. I think it’s the ‘what ifs’ that are driving so many of us crazy. Errors, HBPs, walks, errors, odd player management, etc. Several games should have been won and those losses can most certainly catch up and hurt come tourney seeding time.

I agree pitching has tumbled since Covid. I have posted many times something is off with their pitching. Pre Covid team ERA was under 4 post Covid over 6+. Plus no legit MLB pitchers.

I am explaining why they are young and not using the portal. To me that has a ton to do with NIL. Post Covid they just haven’t brought in pitchers or those guys didn’t develop. Vandy has gone through similar issues since Covid. They were the spot for elite arms and depth of arms. Something changed that impacted them both.
