CJB is compiling one of the best group of players we’ve seen here in a long time. Funny, when that last coach (name eludes me) was hitting a home run with recruits we all assumed it was Adidas and NIL, plus the Clarksons’ recruiting efforts. Now we are giving CJB all the props. I have to say that I don’t know and I don’t really care who is getting it done but it’s really getting damned impressive. Put me in the record right now that we will be in the hunt for the ACC championship this year, yes 2023. Why wait? Go Cards!!!

I think what makes people believe it was NIL and Adidas is that UofL kept nearly the entire class. They didn’t follow Satt.

I think we play in the ACC championship this year and people might think I’m crazy but this is the easiest the schedule will get with the new scheduling. We don’t play any of the assumed top 3 in Clemson, FSU, UNC. Our 2 hardest games are out of conference and hold no weight on making the ACC title game, next two toughest tests are Pitt, NCSt, and Duke if they can replicate what they did last year. Yes I completely ignored Miami. Gattis is dogshit and they looked awful on defense. I don’t care about their recruiting class they always have extremely talented kids on the roster.

I can tell you right now, whatever this football recruiting boom is, is coming firstly from something outside of whoever the coach is. Brohm brings excitement, but something else is a foot and I don’t care what it is.

Fsu had better players
Did they really though... Louisville’s whole Oline was better, RB stable was better, pass rush was better... I mean sure you can have WRs because Johnny Wilson but Louisville and FSU would play 10 times this past year and probably go 5-5

If it was just NIL and Adidas, there's nothing at U of L that's unique. These kids can get NIL/Adidas money signing at any Adidas school. The only thing you can conclude with any basis is they didn't commit here because of Satterfield.

Not sure if you were in any discussions here on NIL and high school kids, but State law precludes U of L or any other KY school from signing kids contingent on receiving NIL money. You're the guy who holds laws and contracts in utmost regard, and we can't be signing kids here BECAUSE they're getting NIL money.

IMO that's why the NIL explanation in this situation doesn't hold water. Like others in this thread, I don't care why as long as our good fortune continues...

It looks like we are going to have to start putting boots in people’s behinds again.I don’t have Twitter account but I was scrolling though the comments of the post for TJ Capers commitment.Dare I say that there was a lot of comments talking negative not only about Louisville but about the ACC.Look the kid is a year away and anything can happen in a year but seems to me he saw something in us that he liked therefore he committed. It also seems that the fans of the so called blue blood football powerhouse teams haven’t caught on to the new landscape of College Football.NIL deals and the transfer portal is and has changed the direction of the sport.4 and 5 star kids are not going to wait around for playing time period. And they know that Louisville is a College town without a Pro team all we have is Louisville football. That is a big selling point to a kid rather they like it or not.Like I said in the beginning, It is time we start putting some people on notice , because the casual fan doesn’t know or remember what we were known for with Brohm here before.Coach Brohm is putting together something special and I hope people are ready because the coming years are going to be very exciting.

First things first ……. Contrary to so many opinions declaring the end of the ACC based on its on field football performance, the ACC is just doing just fine. Those same folks who believe the B12 was weak and doomed need to look who is playing in the NC game.

Secondly, for the first time since Schnellenberger served as head coach here, we have a Louisvillian leading this University’s program. I think there is now a chance that we have a HC who sees UL aaa a destination job. That means a lot when recruiting young athletes ……. Particularly those QBs, WRs and TEs who want exposure for NFL opportunities.

Lastly ….. despite significant limitations in the past, we have competed well against FSU, ND, Clemson and a few SEC schools at times over the last decade or so. We are now in a perfect position to challenge for an ACC Championship, as the level of talent, head coaching and program stability is in place and where I’d need to be to climb to the next level. It may or may not be this coming season, but the foundation is finally in place.

We are back on the course!

Yeah benson was one of the best rb in the nation but our best players did get knocked out of that game and still won so that was cool.
We lost players that game as well and had a brain dead DC that played single coverage on a 6’7 WR with Brownlee who although is a good tackler he gets targeted by every school in coverage. We dominated your offensive line by the way. Count your blessings and move on. Any DC with a brain would’ve bracketed Wilson and you guys had nothing else going. We had 10 TFL and 4 sacks. We had as many sacks as you had TFL. So actually we dominated both of your lines lol.

I was explaining what I think is behind people’s thinking regarding UofL and NIL. I don’t claim to know the real reason for the upturn.
